3rd Grade French Resources (by date, oldest first)

Do you teach a foreign language to your students? This packet contains two center activities that help teach colors in English, Spanish and French! It is differentiated so that students who need more help can use the colored word cards and those who are more advanced can use the black and white cards. The first center activity, the students match the color name to the color splat on the color mats. There are color mats available in English, Spanish and French with word cards available with each color. Use Velcro on the word cards and the blank spaces to allow the word cards to stay in place. The second center activity is a matching/memory game where students pair the colored splat card with the correct color word. This center is also available in English, Spanish and French. This newly updated *94 page* unit will cover you for roughly 7-9 Core French 1-hour classes and features a teachable slide deck, worksheets, lesson plans, rubrics, success criteria, a word wall, a phrase wall and numerous suggestions to get your kids having fun, moving, interacting and legitimately enjoying French class with you. The entirety (or parts of) the unit can easily be left with a substitute teacher and you need a quick lesson plan. It's ALL here!

As with all of my Core French products, this one is geared toward a LOW-LEVEL middle-school classroom (grades 3-7). It's high-energy, interactive, highly engaging and requires no prep. It ties in to some science concepts for grades 5 & 6 on biodiversity and adaptations. It features a significant amount of game-based learning and some project-based learning

There are three longer projects included with this unit: "Mon drôle d'animal" which has them building a silly animal and describing its body parts and details; "Mon animal perdu," a poster project which has them creating a poster for their missing pet, and "Une interview à la radio" which has them writing a radio script to find their lost pet with a partner.

J'utilise ces 27 cartes "J'ai... Qui a ?" une fois que mes élèves sont familiarisés avec le nombre entier et la valeur de position des unités, dizaines et centaines et la distributivité.

Si vous n'êtes pas familier, les jeux de cartes "J'ai... Qui a?" sont des activités en grand groupe qui renforcent leur capacité à lire et à dire ce qu'il y a sur les cartes. C'est une excellente activité de révision avant l'évaluation et je l'utilise actuellement avec mes élèves de 5e et 6e année ; mais il pourrait facilement être utilisé en 7e année comme échauffement ou rappel.

Dans ce document de 9 pages, vous trouverez :

• Explication du jeu et comment démarrer avec des exemples.
• 27 cartes pré-créées (9 cartes par feuille) comportant des nombres entiers représentés par des blocs de base 10 (unités, dizaines et centaines) y compris les cartes "début" et "fin". Pour la partie "J'ai..." de la carte, les élèves ont une, et pour la partie "Qui a..." de la carte, les élèves ont une forme écrite en mots.
• 1 page avec des modèles de cartes vierges (avec "J'ai...", "Qui a..." "Début" et "Fin) à créer si vous avez plus de 27 élèves dans votre classe, si vous souhaitez permettre à vos élèves de créer leur propre version du jeu (j'enseigne une classe combinée, et je laisse mes 6 travailler sur ce projet ensemble pendant que je travaille en petits groupes et que je donne des instructions avec mes 5).

J'imprime ce document recto sur du papier 8,5 "x 11", je le découpe et je le plastifie pour l'utiliser année après année.

Les années COVID ont fait que mes grands ont pris beaucoup de retard en ce qui concerne les conventions et les verbes français. Je trouve que je dois revenir en arrière dans mes instructions et mes attentes. Ce document est le premier d'une longue série qui réintroduit lentement et rappelle aux élèves quelques notions de base sur les verbes.

Sometimes, a little oral activity is all your Core students need to practice a concept, have fun, or be on their best behaviour for a substitute.
