For this assignment, I asked students to make an awesome artwork out of a simple “circle”. Students start with a brainstorming circle paper. After brainstorming different circle designs, students choose their favorite for a Final Copy Paper. Art materials could be colored pencils, crayons, watercolor paint, and/or color sharpies. *CONTRAST, PATTERN, REPETITION, MOVEMENT, ETC. This is a 2-3-day assignment.

This resource contains 4 cross-curricular art projects inspired by the artwork of popular contemporary Brazilian artist Romero Britto.  These engaging projects are designed for Kindergarten through 5th grade students and are perfect for spring or any time of year.  One of the projects is designed to promote SEL (social-emotional learning) & is also ideal as an end-of-year project. Instructions are included. 

This resource is in a PDF file and contains 21 pages. It includes:

The 4 projects vary in difficulty so it is easy to differentiate for students.  Assign different projects by grade level or class, select based on materials on hand, let students choose a project, or set up centers and have students rotate through creating multiple projects. 

The fun and energetic artwork created by these projects creates a colorful display for bulletin boards in the hallway.  The end-of-year project is perfect for those last days of classes with schedule changes, students absences, etc. because it engages students and allows you to design the lesson to incorporate assessment, SEL, student reflection, or use specific materials.

You can get a big bang for your buck with this resource! Think "Flat Stanley" of Science. Sammie Steam was designed to look like a cross between the scientist Albert Einstein and the artist Leonardo da Vinci. This packet contains many suggested Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math challenges. It was created with the purpose of getting families actively involved with their children by completing challenges that will have them all having fun! Sammie STEAM, the adventure dog, will become your students' companion as they complete these activities outside of the school day. This will help foster a strong home/school relationships! As the children complete the activities and share them with the class other students will eagerly join in! It is a perfect way to encourage the students to make connections from one academic area to the other. This package offers differentiated ways for the students to document their STEAM experience. Students are encouraged to use photography, artwork, writing, a log etc. This original challenge, created by the STEM to STEAM Trio, is aligned to the Next Generation Science and Common Core standards. For this assignment, I placed several plastic pumpkins and gourds at each set of tables for students to look at and draw. This creative Pizza Collage: Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen. For this assignment, I asked students to make a Pizza Collage of their favorite type of pizza. Lots of students love just a Cheese Pizza, but when they see all the types of delicious paper toppings they can add to their special pizza, they can’t wait. Students learned tracing, cutting, gluing, and placing (overlapping) skills during this 2-Day Art Unit. Students shared who they were making the special pizza for and their favorite pizza toppings.
