This creative Underwater Perspective Walkway: Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen.

For this assignment, I asked students to make an Underwater Perspective Walkway, celebrating the joy of 1-point perspective and sea life. Students brainstorm their ideas in a sketchbook, and learn how to draw in 1-point perspective (step-by-step demonstrations). Measurements w/ rulers and yardsticks are learned. A compass is used for the curves. Students take the sketch to Final Copy paper and outline important features. Materials will be mainly colored pencils and transparent watercolor blue wash paints. This is a 3-5-day assignment.

For this assignment, I asked students to use their pointer finger (no paint brush) to create the flower pedals. Students filled the paper with fingerprint flowers for one class period. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I used large 18 x 24-inch paper. Students traced their arm/hands, traced large lids, and used rulers and yardsticks to create a unique design. Students were asked to use either warm colors in their arm/hand, and cool colors in the background, OR vice versa. Students used watercolor paints to color their entire artwork.
