Multiplication facts. Perhaps one of the most important skills for a student to learn in order to perform most math operations in the upper grades. These fact booklets provide students ample opportunity to work with their multiplication facts, both in ways that help them UNDERSTAND the facts and commit them to memory from repeated use. There are 12 booklets in this packet, one for each set of facts from one to twelve. Each booklet has 9 half sheet size pages, plus a cover. Students work with facts while filling in number bonds, doing find a number puzzles, skip counting on a hundreds board, doing repeated addition, writing their facts, working with arrays, working with fact families, and playing spinner / dice games. Simply print the booklets your students need, and either assemble yourself, or teach your students to assemble them! Easy to make, fun to do, and great practice without the feeling of "yet another worksheet". Also included is a student chart for up to 30 students to allow you to track your students progress. 4.2D Rounding Whole Numbers and Decimals

This product is intended to be used in a classroom modeled after Peter Liljedahl’s book Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics. This product is a day’s lesson or two days depending on your class's needs.

Launch Script: Slide 3-5. This is the mini lesson. It should be quick, 5-10 minutes.

Task cards: Slides 6-11 (answer sheet and key, slides 12-13) They can be laminated or paper copy to write on, table scoot, homework, game board cards, or team problem solving. They can also be used in a building thinking classroom. There are three types of questions which are marked in the bottom right corner with a snap cube. One snap cube is a type one (mild) question – rounding whole numbers two snap cubes is a type two (medium) question – rounding decimals with and without whole numbers, and three snap cubes is a type three (spicy) question – rounding larger whole numbers and decimals. There are so many options to use them with. There is a free game board located in my store, Sprout & Thrive.

Consolidation: Slide 14-15. Wrap up the lesson after tasks. This is like a second mini lesson. Have students gather around and possibly walk the room to show strategies used by classmates.

Notes: Slides 16-17. This page is intended to be printed for students to write on and glue into journals or hole punched for a notebook.

Check Your Understanding: Slides 18-19. Students complete so the teacher can check to see what they student does or does not understand. It is meant to go in a certain order so that you, the teacher, know where a student begins to struggle – A, B, C, D, etc. – down each column of Mild, Medium, Spicy.
