This is a paper based, Fall themed resource. Products featured are Fall related. Examples of products featured: apple cider, hay bales, leaf bags, pumpkins, rakes, scarfs etc.

This resource is designed to expose students to a variety of real-world shopping situations. Students are given a prices on products and are asked to look at the money provided and determine if they have enough money. Students will also be asked look at the price of real products and identify the correct amount of money needed. Students will also calculate totals of multiple items

How to use this product:

•Print out and have students complete as a worksheet/ workbook.

•Print & laminate for repeated use for fast finishers.

•Project pages onto the board to complete as a class. Have students take turns coloring or circling the correct amount of money.

Recommended sequence

1. Review the 5 senses.

2. Take a moment to tune in, breathe, and just be.

3. Give instructions for how to quietly be in the outside world, using keen observation and a relaxed mind to fill in this chart.

4. Give plenty of time for students to draw or write their findings.

5. Come together as a group and find out what people observed and any impact it had on them.

Tips for your mindfulness nature walk

1. Walk at a natural, slow pace. Take your time to take in the beauty of nature around you. Look around you. Notice the trees around you. Are they starting to change colors? Are they losing their leaves?
2. Take in deep breaths through your nose. Shift your awareness to your smell. What do you smell? Does it smell earthy? Do you smell the leaves around you?
3. Listen. What do you hear? Are there animals bustling around? Do you hear the leaves crunching underneath your feet?
4. Pick up a few leaves. How do they feel? Are they starting to decompose? Are they crunchy? What color are they?
5. Shift your attention back to walking. Feel the physical sensation of walking. One foot up, one foot down. Notice your feet touching the ground. How do you feel?
6. At the end of your walk, pause and take a moment. Stand still and take in a deep breath. Take a look around and notice your feelings.

The Pumpkin Patch Field Trip Unit is part of my Field Trip Unit Series. The series was created with homeschoolers in mind, but can be adapted to be used in a classroom as well. Field trips are a great way to supplement learning, but often homeschoolers don’t get any background information on the location of their field trip and want to enrich their experience by expanding the learning at home before and after the trip. These units help give information and fun activities before and after the field trip.

These units are available in PreK/Kinder, Elementary, and Middle & High School levels. All Pumpkin Patch Field Trip Units follow the same outline and the parent/teacher info sheet is the same for all three so that if you have children of several ages, you can seamlessly teach them together. Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Mandala Design artwork was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I did a demo and taught the class how to use a ruler and a yardstick. Measurements and Math was a strong focus of the lesson. Next, students spent the rest of the first lesson brainstorming an idea for a stencil (¼ of their full Mandala Design. I taught the students how to rotate their stencil to get a Radial Design. Students started on their Final Copy paper and outlined their drawing in sharpie marker. We used large windows to trace our stencils on the final. Students used colored pencils, colored sharpies, or watercolor paint to color their Mandala Design. I hope you and your kiddos love this! For this activity I reviewed what U.D.L. is and how it is used in my Art Room-and how it could be used differently in classrooms. I also reviewed how I conference with students: as a class, in a small group, and in a one-on-one situation. I used my pinch pot clay sculpture unit to showcase U.D.L. & Conferencing in my Art Room. This unit should last 4-(50 minute) class periods. I allowed the use of crayon for everything except the lily pond. I allowed the use of watercolor paint for the lily pond. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. It is best to use one of these images per day or per week, so these resources can last a while. Focus on the specific animal shown and discuss where this animal would be and how it would breathe and pose to gain focus. Make sure you demonstrate the pose with your class. Ask a student to help demonstrate this pose, and the sillier you are, yet focused, the more the students will want to participate with you in each of these fun and motivating animal breathing poses. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to brainstorm in their sketchbook first. Students were asked to choose a Spooky Structure: school, hotel, house, church, etc. Students learned how to use a ruler and yardstick for measurements. This creative Stained-Glass Tree Painting Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to practice drawing different trees. Next, I taught students how to draw a tree that has branches extending to the edge of the paper. I demonstrated how to outline and fill in the tree. Students created their own stained-glass tree artwork on Final Copy Paper. Students outlined and colored their artwork. Students used mostly watercolor paints for their artwork. For this assignment, I placed several plastic pumpkins and gourds at each set of tables for students to look at and draw. Students practiced drawing/coloring pumpkins and gourds in their sketchbooks or on small paper first. Next, students started a Final Copy drawing of one observational pumpkin and one gourd on 11 x 17-inch paper (horizontal). Students used oil pastels and watercolor paint.
