~ Stink and the Incredible Super-Galactic Jawbreaker is a wonderful book to reinforce letter writing, idioms, and friendships. This literature unit is a great guided reading group study. ~The format is half page. Copy front/back, staple together. My students love the half page booklet format. ~Included in the unit: -comprehension questions for each chapter -idiom project ~ I use this unit with one of my guided reading groups. The unit will last about a week or two. Sometimes the guided reading groups set their own expectations/assignments for completing their books. ~Questions are based on Bloom’s Taxonomy and use higher level thinking skills. Many questions also elicit story recall responses. ~ Stink and the Incredible Super-Galactic Jawbreaker is an AR level 3.2 book.

Tornado poke cards are a great independent, partner or guided reading group comprehension activity. My students love the poke card process and enjoy checking each other when they answer questions. The poke cards are self checking. Students will answer the question by selecting one of three choices. Using a pencil, straw, or pipe cleaner, students will poke through the hole to choose their answer. The correct answer will have a mark above or around the hole. The poking process quickly engages the students and provides immediate feedback to them. Cards have chapter titles on them for ease of organization.

~ Jake Drake Teacher’s Pet literature unit can be used with a guided reading group or as a whole class novel study. ~ Questions using higher level thinking skills and character recording sheet are included. ~ I use this unit with one of my guided reading groups. The unit can last from a week to two weeks depending on how often I meet with the group. ~ Jake Drake Teacher's Pet is an AR level 4.3 book.

~ How To Be Cool in the Third Grade literature unit can be used with a guided reading group or as a whole class novel study.

~ Questions use higher level thinking skills.

~Included in the unit:

-vocabulary for the book

~ I use this unit with one of my guided reading groups. The unit can last from a week to two weeks depending on how often I meet with the group.
