This product was made for students to learn the following: living and working together in America, why rules/laws are established for people to follow, the differences between towns, the meaning of government, laws, local government, services that a community provides, the difference between state and national government, democracy, voting, mayor, governor, President, who leads a state, who leads a country, Senate, House of Representatives, Congress, senators,

The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. After reviewing and discussing the notes, there is a review packet that goes through everything that was discussed in the notes. Students will complete fill in the blank questions using a key and answering short answer questions throughout the packet. Students can complete the review independently, with support, or it can be used as an assessment as well.

In this product, students will learn about the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd President, which President was in office at the time of the Louisiana Purchase, students will also review a map that shows the Mississippi River, Columbia River, and the territory that was included in the Louisiana Purchase, why Thomas Jefferson wanted to control the port of New Orleans, facts about the Mississippi River and why it was and still as important river in the United States, students will also learn what was sent down the Mississippi River, students will learn who owned the territory that was included in the Louisiana Purchase before the United States, how much money Napoleon wanted for territory and how much the United States paid for the land, how and why the Louisiana Purchase was important, the size of the Louisiana Purchase in comparison to other countries, who explored the land out west and what they found after the United States purchased the land, who explorers were and what they were doing, when Lewis and Clark started their journey, who Lewis and Clerk met on their journey, and how Sacajawea helped Lewis and Clark.

The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. After reviewing and discussing the notes, students will answer comprehension questions to review what was discussed on previous pages. At the end of the product, students are provided with a review that includes multiple choice questions and short answer questions.
