This engaging lesson plan combines discussion, activities, and assessment to ensure students develop a strong understanding of irony, making it an excellent resource for language arts educators. Perfect for aligning with standards and fostering critical thinking skills in figurative language!

After reading orwatching Enemy Pie, students will create their own FRIENDSHIP pie by listing the "ingredients" that make a good friend.

This is a novel study of C.S. Lewis’s Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. In this product, there are completed lesson plans (and a blank one if you need to write your own), a slideshow that includes everything for each chapter (introduction, review of content, copy of the doodle notes, copy of the end of chapter activity/discussion outline, and the closure question), the Doodle Notes outline for each chapter, and the End of Chapter/Discussion activities. This novel study is for 4th-grade to 7th-grade students.

Lesson Plans

Each chapter comes with a completed lesson plan! The lesson plans include an I can statement (Chapter Goal), the materials needed, what students will be doing as a preview to the chapter, what they will be doing during the read, the activity after the chapter, some differentiation ideas, the assessment, and a closure. There is a spot for standards, but I did not include one because of different state standards. They are also all editable! It was made using Google Slides, so that will be the best place to edit the lesson plans.

Doodle Notes/End of Chapter Activities & Discussions

Each chapter comes with doodle notes and an End of Chapter/Discussion Activity. Doodle notes are notes students take that involve more drawing than writing. Students will have a prompt to help them know what to focus on while listening/reading the chapter and what to take notes on. The activities focus on multiple different skills, Central Idea, Supporting Details, Problem/Solution, Cause/Effect, Summaries, Story Elements, Inferences, and more. There are also 8 discussion activities where students will need to work in groups discussing a prompt about the chapter.

Slideshow

To go along with the book, there is a Slideshow that includes an outline for each chapter! It includes what is written in the lesson plans. So there are introduction slides for each chapter, a copy of the doodle notes and chapter activities, and a slide for the closure. The slides are also editable!So if you would like to add/adapt anything to fit your class/lesson better, just open the file in Canva or PowerPoint. I also made a Google Slides File that is easier to edit on Google Slides, however, you cannot edit as much. ***There is a slide that you will need to edit. It is the “Discussion Expectations” slide. This is because each class will have different expectations for discussions.**

This Four Corners Game is a fun, no-prep activity you can use to review the homophones "there" "their" and "they're" that your students will LOVE! They will love moving around the room as you click through the 40 fill-in-the-blank sentences. I’ve found that my students confuse these words and, as a result, their writing is hard to understand. You will love this well-organized activity that allows students to test their knowledge, get exposure to sentence examples, and even learn something new! STUDENT GUIDELINES FOR USING THIS RESOURCE

First, review the three terms using the Mini-Lesson slide with examples.

Then, after reading each sentence on the board, move to the side of the room labeled “THERE,” “THEIR,” or “THEY'RE” depending on which word you think should fill the blank. There's an additional fun emoji slide for students who are unsure of the answer!

REFLECTION:
The class can review the answers and comments as a whole group when the activity is complete. You’ll be surprised how much better they’ll get at writing without confusing using these homophones after being exposed to this high-quality kinesthetic review!

The Berenstain Bears' Trouble with Pets comprehension questions product is useful for students that read the book. The questions are placed in order with the book. Students can answer these questions as the book is read or after they have finished reading the book or listening to the book. While reading this book and answering these questions, students will learn about making promises, being responsible, generosity, how animals can get into mischief, taking care of animals and the responsibility that comes with that, taking care of animals that are injured, and students will answer questions about what kind of pet they would want and why and what they would train their pets to do. Sequencing events is also reviewed in this product. Students can answer these short answer questions, true/false questions, sequencing questions, and multiple choice questions as they read the book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and examples of the words used in sentences are presented. Students have the opportunity to use those words in sentences as well.
