There are five all-color coded slides along with the form identifiers listed next to each phrase. Discuss form with the students and teach them (by rote) the rhythms on the powerpoint with the corresponding repeats (most are repeated 3 or 4 times). Then, apply it to drums!

All regular notation is to be played on the buckets (or drums, or ground, however you wish), and the X notation (with a down stem) are played as stick clicks above their head (or you could apply it to a tambourine or other auxiliary instrument)

Classroom management in a middle school Core French classroom can be dicey! That's why I engage my students as much as possible to keep em' on their toes! Prof du jour is a part of my everyday routine, where a different student each day is given the opportunity to lead the discussions with their peers and to give them confidence in French. This isn't just a run-of-the-mill calendar! My Prof du jour is at the command desk and interacts with their peers and the Google Slides. Here are some activities that my Grades 4, 5 and 6 students actively use found in this document:

Each activity is designed to be intuitive and easy to facilitate, so even without notice, the student leader can jump into their role confidently. You can rotate the "Prof du jour" daily or weekly, giving every student the opportunity to shine and grow in their speaking abilities.
