There are various explanations for the origins of this day, but these explanations themselves have been popularized in many countries for many centuries; its origin, however, is somewhat obscure as we talk. The traditions of April Fools' day include playing pranks on people, wrapping up on the first of April with the noisy exclamation, “April Fools!” as a way of telling the duped person he had been a victim of the April Fools' Day hoax. All that is certain is that, whatever the origins, the practice of media organizations engaging in an April Fools' Day prank has surely cemented the status of this secular holiday.
People who were late to receive the news, or who did not realize that the new year began on January 1 and therefore kept celebrating from late March to April 1, became the butt of jokes and tricks called "April fools." One of these tricks was to stick paper fish onto their backs and to cry out “poisson d’avril” (April fish), believed to symbolize an immature fish easily caught and a gullible person.
It is a lesson plan for 90 minutes related to April Fools Day. Students will find their tasks and their answers on different worksheets.

This product includes slides that are made up of the states that begin with the same letter on each slide, as these states can be confusing. For example: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, and Arkansas as well as their abbreviations so students can see the difference. Slides that show states that don't have any similarities, like Georgia, and states that have two words, like New York, are also addressed.
Each slide is provided with the state name and the abbreviation. Students can attempt to fill in the blanks of the abbreviations that were reviewed on each previous slide as well. This helps students to learn the spelling, abbreviations, and location of each state. This product can be used for students who benefit from having material adapted and it can also be used with students who are on grade level as well.

The example provides students with a foundation of what is expected when they complete their own state research report. This product was developed for students who benefit from adapted instruction. In this product, students will learn about the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th President of the United States, a brief summary of what each of those men did, the war that was happening between France and Great Britain, in 1810, Americans were becoming friendly with France and Great Britain wasn't a fan of this, two main factors that led to war - impressment and blocking of ships - in more detail, how and why America's trade suffered, why New England colonies were afraid to go to war with Great Britain, congressmen in America at this time and how they felt about Great Britain, their nickname - "The War Hawks," Captain James Lawrence and what he did during the war with Great Britain and how his words were impactful, the end of the War of 1812 - who won, how did it end, where and when it ended are included in this product.
The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. Throughout the product, after each page of notes is reviewed, students will answer comprehension questions to review what was discussed on previous pages. At the end of the product, students are provided with a review that includes multiple choice questions and short answer questions.

In this product, students will learn about what happened after America gained its independence from Great Britain, the rules that were developed after the American Revolution - Articles of Confederation, the struggles that Congress had within their own government and what they couldn't solve, how states disagreed and what they disagreed about, John Adams went to Great Britain to set up trade agreements and how it was hard for Great Britain to take America seriously, The Constitutional Convention and where it was held, the Annapolis Convention, delegates - who they were and what they did, and how long they worked to create the United States Constitution, the delegates disagreed with one another, but they did disagree on what should be included in the Constitution, why they disagreed with one another, and how they came to a compromise, Congress - where it is located, who meets in the United States Capitol building - the two houses - the Senate and the House of Representatives - how they were different based on members, length of terms, age for members, organization, and how many per state, the federal government and what they do and what the state government and what they do, the three branches of government - Executive, Judicial, and Legislative Branch - what they do, how they are different, how they work together, and how they each have specific jobs, the system of Checks and Balances that is followed within the government and why, The Bill of Rights that include the first 10 amendments to the Constitution of the United States, brief review of the American Revolution, what George Washington did when he served the United States as President of the United States, and where the first, second, and third capital of the United States was located and why it moved.
The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. After reviewing and discussing the notes, they will answer comprehension questions to review what was discussed on previous pages, students will read charts, The Bill of Rights, and the 3 Branches of Government chart, and answer questions based on each of these provided. At the end of the product, students are provided with a review that includes multiple choice questions, short answer questions, and will choose 1 of the 10 Amendments in The Bill of Rights and write about why they think it is important.
