Some individuals felt it was normal to treat Black people badly, despite the fact that slavery had been abolished over a century earlier. In order to combat this inequality, Martin Luther King began using both words and nonviolent means, and he was successful!

This product was made for students to learn about the 50 states, the spelling of each state, and each state's abbreviation. This product includes slides that are made up of the states that begin with the same letter on each slide, as these states can be confusing. For example: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, and Arkansas as well as their abbreviations so students can see the difference. Slides that show states that don't have any similarities, like Georgia, and states that have two words, like New York, are also addressed.
Each slide is provided with the state name and the abbreviation. Students can attempt to fill in the blanks of the abbreviations that were reviewed on each previous slide as well. This helps students to learn the spelling, abbreviations, and location of each state. This product can be used for students who benefit from having material adapted and it can also be used with students who are on grade level as well.

The example state research report includes 7 slides - cover page, where is your state?, facts of the state, symbols of the state, interesting fact about the state, state flag, and why did you write about your state? The example provides students with a foundation of what is expected when they complete their own state research report. This product was developed for students who benefit from adapted instruction. This product can also be used with students who are on grade level as well.
The template is provided for students to write their rough draft. Once students are finished they can create a final draft using Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc. using the information from their rough draft.

In this product, students will learn about delegates - who they were and what they did, and how long they worked to create the United States Constitution, the delegates disagreed with one another, but they did disagree on what should be included in the Constitution, why they disagreed with one another, and how they came to a compromise, Congress - where it is located, who meets in the United States Capitol building - the two houses - the Senate and the House of Representatives - how they were different based on members, length of terms, age for members, organization, and how many per state, the federal government and what they do and what the state government and what they do, the three branches of government - Executive, Judicial, and Legislative Branch - what they do, how they are different, how they work together, and how they each have specific jobs, and the system of Checks and Balances that is followed within the government and why.

In this product, students will learn how California was controlled by Mexico, who signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and what it meant once it was signed, what territory Mexico gave up, John Sutter - how he was the richest person during this time in California, what he hoped to accomplish, what was built on Sutter's 48,827 acres, why his dream was unsuccessful, and what caused this to happen, who found the first piece of gold in the American River, who James Marshall was and why he was hired by Sutter, Sam Brennan and what he did to become very rich, how much money Brennan earned, who the 49ers were and what they did to try to become rich, and traveling across the country in search of gold - Oregon-California Trail or an ocean voyage - the difficulties that were faced taking both of these routes. Students will also learn about where the Oregon-California Trail started and where it ended, the route that was taken if travelers on the East coast wanted to travel West and the continent they would travel around, what travelers had to do/and how long they had to wait for their turn to look for gold, how many people searched for gold in 1848 and 1849, how searching for gold was easy and then it became more challenging as more time went on, how and why the population of California increased and decreased during and after the California Gold Rush, how much money in gold was found in the American River during The California Gold Rush.

Students will learn about other laws that the Parliament passed that had to do with purchasing goods such as tea and paper, what the colonists did about this, and how they felt about this tax, The Boston Massacre, what caused it, where it happened, why it happened, how the Colonists felt and why, what the American Revolution is, what happened after the Boston Massacre with Parliament, The Boston Tea Party, what the Boston Tea Party was, what happened during the Boston Tea Party, how Parliament responded to the actions of the Colonists, The Boston Port Act and the Quartering Act - laws that were imposed by the Parliament, and how the Colonists felt about these laws, the American Revolution - where it started, Minutemen and how they helped during the American Revolution, when the American Revolution began, the first shots of the American Revolution, where the Colonists and the British Soldiers were going and why before and during the American Revolution, Battle at Bunker Hill, what happened during the Battle at Bunker Hill, the Second Continental Congress meeting to discuss needing an army with supplies, the commander - George Washington was chosen to lead the Colonists and why he was chosen for this position, how the Declaration of Independence came about, who was involved with writing the Declaration of Independence, events that led to the Declaration of Independence when looking at a timeline and answering questions pertaining to the timeline are covered. This product was made for students to learn the following: Vocabulary words - earth lodges, adobes, culture, glaciers, tepees, ancestors, longhouses, plateau, basin, artifacts, climate, and totem and their meanings, the first Americans, the Ice Age and how the land was above the water that connected Asia to North America, Bering Land Bridge and who went over the bridge - animals and hunters, the path that the hunters took from Asia to South America along with a map, people of the Americas after the glaciers melted the Indigenous Peoples lived in North and South America and what they needed to do to live, different groups of Indigenous Peoples spread out throughout North and South America and how they had their own culture, Indigenous Peoples lived all over the United States and how there were 5 different culture regions that they lived in - Eastern Woodlands Region, Plains Region, Southwest Region, Northwest Coast Region, and California Intermountain Region - each of these regions talk about the climate in the region, how the Indigenous Peoples found food, and where they lived and why they lived there, learning about the past - artifacts and how they were made in different regions, glaciers and how they still exist, what happens when glaciers get bigger, how fast glaciers move, and how they exist today and where they are located is covered in this product.
The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. After reviewing and discussing the notes, there are fill in the blanks with the missing vocabulary words, answering comprehension questions to review what was discussed on previous pages, and fill in the blanks to review vocabulary using a key. Students will also have the opportunity to fill in the blanks when reviewing each of the 5 culture regions.
