You can make as many snowman as you want. Templates are included for different emotions to help students explore their self care when they feel a variety of feelings and reflecting on why they felt that way as well as what they needed to look after themselves and their emotions.

This creative activity includes:

- Learning all about “self-care”

- Instructions

- Completed example

What to do:

- Cut out the various snowman parts (head, body, accessories etc.)

This file folder is a great concrete way for students to explore buddy vs bullying qualities.

Students are encouraged to match and sort the various qualities and reflect on whether they would be qualities a buddy would demonstrate or a quality that a bully would demonstrate.

This SEL lesson is versatile and can be used as a quick reference guide, a sort and match activity lesson, within individual or small group sessions or even as a whole class approach.

Laminate and glue this resource to a file folder for repeated use and longevity.

You will need scissors, glue and a file folder. Alternatively, you can assemble this resource using hook and loop adhesive dots. Looking for a great story to read for Earth day here is a wonderful children's book about planting and growing a garden.

We are the Gardeners by Joanna Gaines is a fun story about a family who works together to garden. This story teaches the reader about the importance of hard work and never giving up. Along with teaching great morals, this story also teaches about actual gardening (including what animals help, which animals are bad, and what plants need to grow).

Body language and gestures convey messages, meaning, and important information beyond what is said. It is also intended to provide students with opportunities to practice social skills by reading and responding to people’s body languages and gestures in an appropriate, positive manner.

Students with autism spectrum disorders often have the most difficult time with these skills and can benefit greatly from the visuals.

SUGGESTIONS FOR USE:

How/When To Use Scenario Task Cards

• Role-Playing: Students can collaborate in pairs or groups to act out a variety of scenarios and demonstrate appropriate responses. Role-playing activities can also be used to show how "response" skills are used improperly and then asking the 'audience' to help reenact properly. This activity can ultimately improve confidence, communication, and assertiveness skills and further help students understand the difference between appropriate and inappropriate responses to people's body language and gestures.
• Play Writing Exercise: Students can work in groups to create skits or scenes related to body language then perform the skit for the class.
• Writing Response: Students can be given a scenario to read and then write their responses. Students can switch papers with a partner who then reads their responses and determines whether they agree/disagree with their responses/approaches to these real-life scenarios.
• Discussion: Students can discuss the Body Language / Non-verbal Communication Scenario Task Cards in groups or whole class. They can discuss things like “What would you do?”, “Why would you do that?”, and “What are some other options you could consider?”
