Writing a story about a reindeer is fun project for your students to show their creativity. This product includes information to share with your students about what a story is, what is shared in a story, who the audience can be, what is the author's purpose for writing a story, and how the story can be published. This product includes two story ideas, an example of one reindeer story is outlined on a brainstorming template, and a final draft of the reindeer story are included in this product. The perfect writing assignment for the month of December or any month of the year! This holiday informational/explanatory writing assignment gives students the opportunity to learn about different holidays around the world. Students will be assigned or choose a holiday to research and then write their own informative essay. "A Christmas Carol" Vocabulary: Students will find the given words within the novel "A Christmas Carol" and record the sentence in which the word can be found. I had the students complete these sheets after reading the section of the book.

Creative activity: Students participate in an activity where they will write and illustrate their stories of Christmas past, present, and yet to come, in a way that is similar to what happens to Scrooge in the novel.

Students loved sharing their stories and hearing the hopes their classmates have for their futures.

As a culminating activity: Students read or watch A Christmas Carol and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, my students read A Christmas Carol and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas, for an engaging activities before the holiday. They will practice comparing and contrasting in three different ways, including an exciting snowball fight.

Both activities follow a similar format, with slight variances to the BOOM Cards version to allow the resource to be digital and self-marking.

In Task 1 students will read an informational text about Christmas and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.

In Task 2 students will complete a crossword puzzle by answering ten questions. Answering these questions correctly will reveal some hidden letters which need to be unscrambled to reveal the second word.

In Task 3 students will sort 27 timeline task cards about famous holidays, putting them in order from the earliest date in the year to the latest. When they have finished their third word will be revealed.

In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.

Firstly, a funny Christmas play that revolves around Holly the Elf. After being accidentally taken to the North Pole one Christmas Eve, she stayed until adulthood and grew up thinking she was an elf herself. One day she found out she was a human, and decided to go and visit her biological father. On arrival she wasn’t welcomed by her father but soon the family grew to like Holly, and she also found a boyfriend. But then everything changed when she fell out with her father and she decided to leave. However, as she was walking alone, she heard a crash; when she went to investigate, she noticed it was her good friend, Santa. Her family catch up with her and together they all manage to lift Christmas spirit and power Santa’s sleigh.

Secondly, we have a play script for A Christmas Carol, however it is a modern remake that is based in a school - with the head teacher being Ebenezer Scrooge - you can change the names of the characters to teachers in your school, or to rhyme with teachers in your school as I did (if they have a sense of humour)! Firstly, a funny Christmas play that revolves around Holly the Elf. After being accidentally taken to the North Pole one Christmas Eve, she stayed until adulthood and grew up thinking she was an elf herself. One day she found out she was a human, and decided to go and visit her biological father. On arrival she wasn’t welcomed by her father but soon the family grew to like Holly, and she also found a boyfriend. But then everything changed when she fell out with her father and she decided to leave. However, as she was walking alone, she heard a crash; when she went to investigate, she noticed it was her good friend, Santa. Her family catch up with her and together they all manage to lift Christmas spirit and power Santa’s sleigh.

Secondly, we have a funny Christmas play that revolves around the town of Bootown, where all the Boos love Christmas. In fact they love Christmas so much it is all they talk about! However, a mysterious outcast lives to the North of the town; this outcast hates Christmas and anything to do with the festive time of year. This outcast is called the Grouch! The play follows the story of Mary-Boo and her family as they open up to the Grouch, and try to show him what Christmas is all about. However, the Grouch has his own plans to ruin Christmas for the town, and steals all the presents on Christmas eve. He has a change of heart however when he hears the town enjoying Christmas even though he had stolen all of the presents. His heart grows and he quickly returns the gifts and takes part in all the festivities.

A Kwanzaa Escape Room activity. Ideal for fifth grade or sixth grade, the activity is perfect for group work; a great holiday activity; team-building activities; or for a fun, engaging and interactive lesson. The activity can be used in English class as it incorporates some ELA skills or in Social Studies.

In Task 1 students will read an informational text about the celebration of Kwanzaa and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.

In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.

In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards about important holidays or festivals celebrated in the United States and around the world. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.

In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.

Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.

This is a play script for Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol'. It tells the story of a mean, old man named Ebenezer Scrooge, who runs a dark and miserable business. His workers are under-paid and over-worked, especially his assistant Bob Cratchett.

It is Christmas eve and his Bob asks for the day off to spend time with his family, and sick child – Tiny Tim. Scrooge almost refuses but decides to just dock his pay for the day. Then, that evening he gets a visit from his previous business partner – another miserable person called Jacob Marley.

Marley tells him he needs to change his ways or end up with the same fate as him; he tells him how he will be visited by three ghosts that night. The ghosts visit and show Scrooge various things that upset him enough to change his ways.

After the visits of the ghosts Scrooge wakes up on Christmas day a changed man and tries to put right all the wrongs he has caused over the previous decades!
