By Modified Treasures
Cartoon Last Character Standing
Students will be given a list of Cartoon Characters to see how their characters are eliminated over a 10 day period during the Last Character Standing Games. They will be given a pair of dice that will be used to determine if the character moves on to the next day or if they are eliminated. On the back is a series of questions to ensure that students are learning about experimental probability. Very fun and there will be a lot of laughs.

Differentiated Fraction Multiplication and Division Communication Project
By MsVisualizer
Each student chooses a different pair of numbers (one fraction, one whole or mixed), make up a corresponding word problem for multiplication and one for division using their two numbers, answers the question using a representation, and checks their answer using keep-change-flip. An MYP Communication rubric (out of 8) and a 100 point rubric are both included so you can choose.
Lots of Differentiation with
- Choice of problems ranging from easier to very challenging
- Reference sheets to support students in the more challenging aspects
- Additional number choices for students who need a modified curriculum
- Option to do it as a partner project or individually
This was originally created for MYP Criterion C (communication) but can be used in any 5th or 6th grade class. I included a rubric that adds up to 100 to accommodate other grading policies.
