This resource is a back to school digital escape room that has three rooms with 10 codes to decipher in each. Students will use a pigpen cipher, emoji code and letter wheel to solve 30 total coded words that are all school related. As students solve the codes, the picture of a lock next to the answer will automatically open. When all 10 coded words have been answered correctly, a key will pop up automatically at the bottom of that page. Both activities follow a similar format, with slight variances to the BOOM Cards version to allow the resource to be digital and self-marking.

In Task 1 students will read an informational text about Jesse Owens and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.

In Task 2 students will complete a crossword puzzle by answering ten questions. Answering these questions correctly will reveal some hidden letters which need to be unscrambled to reveal the second word.

In Task 3 students will sort 27 timeline task cards about the 1900s, putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their third word will be revealed.

In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.
