This is a fun geography mini-lesson (60 minutes) that will get your students excited about learning and about the season itself. It will open their eyes to various cultures and religions around the world. Make every moment a teaching moment.

Includes an activity where students get to use digital scanners on their iPad or phones to explore the history behind the Christmas pickle. Alternative: If you don't have a digital classroom, you may choose to print off the article and duplicate it. However, students will need access to computers to complete the second group cooperative activity.

This resource contains six non-fiction texts about biomes of the United States. The passages were written with third graders in mind, but the information is very interesting and would be useful for upper grades as well. Some passages are shorter than others and have less complex language so that you can easily differentiate for students.

There is a tips sheet for teachers and a recording sheet for students on which they can note where the biome is found, the average annual precipitation, the average temperature, and plants and animals of the biome. Students respond to a question asking if they would like to live and that biome and tell why or why not.

Inside each set, there are matching, sorting, and filling in the missing verb activities. This is a great resource to have students complete as a Do Now, Bellringer, or review before class.

This is an engaging digital breakout room that is NO PREP! Students will enjoy this digital breakout website that has them solve four logic puzzles to find all the necessary keys to unlock the locks which is forcing a giant snow machine to cause blizzards all over the world. Students will use the Google Form that's embedded in the website to fill in their guesses for the passwords. They will get an immediate response on whether their guess was correct, (which will allow them to go to the next rooms submission), or tell them to try again. This website is great for struggling readers as well because an AI avatar is able to read all directions/information aloud to the student if needed.

This resource is a back to school digital escape room that has three rooms with 10 codes to decipher in each. Students will use a pigpen cipher, emoji code and letter wheel to solve 30 total coded words that are all school related. As students solve the codes, the picture of a lock next to the answer will automatically open. When all 10 coded words have been answered correctly, a key will pop up automatically at the bottom of that page. As students collect these keys, they will appear on the first Google Sheet Page labeled "Directions and Key Collection Page." When all three keys have been collected, a message saying "You Did It!" will appear on the Directions and Key Collection Page.
