Ways to use:

1. Meet the Teacher Event Invitations: Send personalized postcards to each student before the school year begins, inviting them and their families to a "Meet the Teacher" event. This allows students to get to know their new teacher in a relaxed and friendly setting.
2. Personalized Message: Leave a blank space on the back of the card for a handwritten note. Take a moment to write a short, encouraging message to each student. Mention how excited you are to have them in your class and share a positive expectation for the upcoming year.
3. Welcome Cards on the First Day of School: Hand out customized cards to students as they enter the classroom on the first day of school. This gesture will instantly make them feel valued and excited about the new academic year.

Check out this printable New Year Brochure that is just perfect for setting goals and reflection. It is a perfect way to ease your students back into the routine of being in school.  Geared toward Upper Elementary, Middle and High School students.

The new year 2024 is the perfect time to reflect on 2023, set goals, and have some fun as students readjust to being back in school after winter break. Have students create this brochure, then let them keep it to track their goals. Purchase once, and this product can be used year after year and will be updated yearly! I used this resource with one of my guided reading groups. They completed the packet as they read the story "Calendar Mysteries New Year's Eve Thieves #13" by Ron Roy. If they finished they could choose from the extra activities. Answer key is included!

Looking for a** Lunar New Year**-themed, engaging and informative reading comprehension activity? This scavenger hunt is designed to help students practice skim reading, looking for context clues, and learn some useful vocabulary.

It’s perfect for EFL / ESL students at the B1/B2 level and can also be used for native English classes at grade levels 5 - 7. With low prep, just print and hang, it contains 10 reading passages about Chinese New Year traditions.

The scavenger hunt is designed so that students have to revisit and reread the reading passages multiple times when looking for code words. The answer to each question is located on a different reading passage card. Once students have answered all the questions, they unscramble the letters to reveal the final answer - the name of the murderer.
