I have created a digital self-checking 15-question quiz template in Excel and Google Sheets.

With this template, you will be able to insert 15 questions as well as insert an answer key into this conditionally formatted template that will do the grading for you automatically. If a student answers a question correctly, the answer will turn green and if they answer incorrectly, the answer will turn red. You will be able to use this template for multiple quizzes in multiple subjects - all you have to do is change the questions and change the answer key.

This template will be a lifesaver and you will be sure to keep handy for every day to weekly use.

This is a scavenger hunt using task cards that is based on the Inca, Mayan & Aztec civilizations which is studied in the 5th grade curriculum under the following standards:

• 5.1 The first humans in the Western Hemisphere modified their physical environment as well as adapted to their environment. Their interactions with their environment led to various innovations and to the development of unique cultures.
• 5.1a Various forms of scientific evidence suggest that humans came to North America approximately 25,000 to 14,000 years ago and spread southward to South America.
• 5.1b Human populations that settled along rivers, in rainforests, along oceans, in deserts, on plains, in mountains, and in cold climates adapted to and made use of the resources and environment around them in developing distinct ways of life.
• 5.1c Early peoples living together in settlements developed shared cultures with customs, beliefs, values, and languages that give identity to the group. These early peoples also developed patterns of organization and governance to manage their societies.

This resource begins by challenging students with a mission, complete the tasks to solve the mystery word and four digit code to collect ancient treasures lost in these civilizations. Check out the preview to see what each task card entails. Students will need to walk around the room reading the task cards. Each task card has a code word on the bottom which is the answer to the question/fill in the blank. The answer will NOT be found on that same task card. For example, the answer to task card #1 is found by reading the passage on task card #8. Students MUST record which task card they found the answer on in their answer sheet under the “FOUND CARDS #” column. That column will be used at the end for the 4 digit lock code. They will follow the clues to find the correct 4 digit code. Once they have completed the scavenger hunt they will receive a half sheet of paper stating that they have found and collected the treasures!

This activity would be a great review before assessments, as a center activity, a group activity, etc. Students will be engaged with the learning while having a fun time trying to solve all of the clues!

This is a scavenger hunt using task cards that analyzes the creation of the Constitution, challenges in ratifying it between the colonies, the struggles of the Articles of Confederation and key players in this whole process which is studied in the 7th grade curriculum under the following standards:

• 7.4 The newly independent states faced political and economic struggles under the Articles of Confederation. These challenges resulted in a Constitutional Convention, a debate over ratification, and the eventual adoption of the Bill of Rights.
• 7.4a Throughout the American Revolution, the colonies struggled to address their differing social, political, and economic interests and to establish unity. The Articles of Confederation created a form of government that loosely united the states, but allowed states to maintain a large degree of sovereignty.
• 7.4b The lack of a strong central government under the Articles of Confederation presented numerous challenges. A convention was held to revise the Articles, the result of which was the Constitution. The Constitution established a democratic republic with a stronger central government.
• 7.4c Advocates for and against a strong central government were divided on issues of States rights, role/limits of federal power, and guarantees of individual freedoms. Compromises were needed between the states in order to ratify the Constitution.

Students will read about Christopher Columbus, Juan Ponce de León, Jacques Cartier, John Cabot, Henry Hudson, Giovanni da Verrazzano, Hernando de Soto, and Samuel de Champlain. This activity will have students reading about what country the explorer sailed for, what part of the Americas they explored and how their exploration affected later colonization or knowledge of the Americas. This is a scavenger hunt using task cards that is based on the women's suffrage movement which is studied in the 4th grade curriculum under the following standards: 4.5 Different groups of people did not have equal rights and freedoms. People worked to bring about change. The struggle for rights and freedoms was one factor in the division of the United States that resulted in the Civil War. 4.5b Women have not always had the same rights as men in the United States and New York State. They sought to expand their rights and bring about change.

• Students will examine the rights denied to women during the 1800s.
• Students will investigate people who took action to bring about change, such as Amelia Bloomer, Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, Susan B. Anthony, Matilda Joslyn Gage, and Elizabeth Blackwell. Students will explore what happened at the convention of women in Seneca Falls.

This resource begins by challenging students with a mission, complete the tasks to solve the mystery word and four digit code to find the Declaration of Sentiments which is a crucial document to helping women gain equality. Students will read about the rights that women were denied, the Seneca Falls Convention, Amelia Bloomer, Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Lucretia Mott, the Declaration of Sentiments and the 19th amendment. Check out the preview to see what each task card entails.
