This is a 3 part individual/group assignment where groups (of 4-6) are given a problem based on a well known fairy tale where students have to write and perform their solution to the problem. Students will write out a monologue individually and as a group will write the body of the script. After the groups have resolved their problem, each group member will have a chance to reflect on how their character feels after the resolution of the problem. This activity would be appropriate for middle school or high school students. This is a 3-part assignment that incorporates both individual and group assignments. Groups of students (4-6) are responsible for writing an individual monologue, a group script and a final monologue reflection. Students will take on the role of a character from a well known fairy tale. In the individual monologue, students will get to explore the perspective of their character and how the new dilemma a character is faced with should be solved. The group will then figure out a solution to the dilemma and will write a short script to show their resolution. After the group has resolved the dilemma, each character will have an opportunity to reflect on how their character feels about the outcome. Don't worry I've included some rubrics that you can use for each section too and some worksheets to help guide student thinking.

Four individual Ancient Greece Escape Room activities about the following famous figures or periods from history:

Ideal for fifth grade or sixth grade, the activities are perfect for group work, starting a new ancient history topic, team-building activities or for fun, engaging and interactive lessons. The activities can be used in English also as they incorporate some ELA skills, or in Social Studies.

Each activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room.

In Task 1 of each activity students will read an informational text and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.

In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.

In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.

In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.

Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.

Lesson Overview

Need a fun way to introduce Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to upper elementary or middle school students? This seasonal bundle lets students learn the basics of Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets) as they create pixel art using the program. First, they'll create a quick pixel art from a given example and then they'll create their own! This bundle includes the full lesson for each season: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. These are each sold separately too, if you prefer. These are also fun lessons to use if you just need something for a one day lesson.

I've used this with 7th and 8th graders who used their free time to create even more art! I hope your students have as much fun as mine did learning Excel or Google Sheets!

Four individual Aztec Empire Escape Room activities about the following famous figures or periods from history:

In Task 1 of each activity students will read an informational text and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.

In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.

In Task 3 students will have to cut out 25 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.

In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.

Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.
