Need a fun way to introduce Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to upper elementary or middle school students? This great lesson incorporates Summer themed art as students learn the basics of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. First, they'll create a quick pixel art from a given example and then they'll create their own! These are also fun lessons to use if you just need something for a one day lesson.
This lesson is great for distance learning/remote learning. You can upload it to your school's learning management system (Google Classroom, Edmodo, Canvas, etc.) or share with students via Google Drive.

Memories from the Year Video Project - End of Year Activity | Distance Learning

Memories from the Year (video project) gives students an opportunity to share their memories from the school year as a culminating activity to the year. It uses the Web 2.0 tool, WeVideo, which is convenient for teachers and students since it does not require download. Students use existing pictures and videos or shoot additional ones and then combine those with WeVideo’s built in music to create a video retrospective of the year. The project was created for 7th and 8th graders but could easily be adapted to use with upper elementary through early high school.
This lesson is great for distance learning/remote learning. You can upload it to your school's learning management system (Google Classroom, Edmodo, Canvas, etc.) or share with students via Google Drive.

End of the Year Recap - Video Project Using Canva

Lesson Overview
In this lesson, students reflect on their learning for the year using a set of prompts and creating a video using Canva (free, online software). A tutorial is included for the project, along with student expectations, instructions, prompts, and a grading rubric. This is a great way to let students reflect on their learning for the year and to share memories.
It was designed for middle school (grades 6-8) but could be used equally as well in high school classes.
Materials Required:
· Computers with Internet access for each student (or pair of students)
· Software such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs

“I’ll Always Remember” PowerPoint end-of-the-year project gives students an opportunity to creatively express their memories from each of their classes for the year. In this project, they combine pictures with a short paragraph about a specific memory they will “always remember” from each of their classes. The project was created for 8th graders but could easily be adapted to use with high school students.

Lesson Overview
Need a fun way to introduce Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to upper elementary or middle school students? This seasonal bundle lets students learn the basics of Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets) as they create pixel art using the program. First, they'll create a quick pixel art from a given example and then they'll create their own! This bundle includes the full lesson for each season: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. These are each sold separately too, if you prefer. These are also fun lessons to use if you just need something for a one day lesson.
I've used this with 7th and 8th graders who used their free time to create even more art! I hope your students have as much fun as mine did learning Excel or Google Sheets!

6th Grade Math Escape Room | 6th Grade Math Project | End of Year Review

This 6th grade math escape room is a great end of year review project that is completely SELF CHECKING and includes 40 questions to Escape from Mathematical Mansion! Students will complete 4 multiple choice questions in each of the 10 rooms covering major 6th grade topics including signed numbers, operations with fractions, greatest common factor, number properties, linear equations, mean, median, mode, surface area and proportions! After they solve the questions they will take their letter answer choice in order and write it under the locked door.
Before they can move to the next room they will go to there LOCK DECODER (Google Sheet) and put their code in. If the box turns green they can move to the next room. If the box turns red they must find their error and try again!
Their FINAL CHALLENGE will be to create their own multiple choice question per topic, which a template is provided for.

They will take the leftover letters and discover a mystery message. They then will be able to create their own vocabulary booklet that includes a space for each vocabulary word, definition and example or picture!

7th Grade Math Escape Room | 7th Grade Math Project | End of Year Review

This 7th grade math escape room is a great end of year review project that is completely SELF CHECKING and includes 40 questions to Escape from Mathematical Mansion! Students will complete 4 multiple choice questions in each of the 10 rooms covering major 7th grade topics including signed numbers, operations with fractions, greatest common factor, number properties, linear equations, mean, median, mode, surface area and proportions! After they solve the questions they will take their letter answer choice in order and write it under the locked door.
Before they can move to the next room they will go to there LOCK DECODER (Google Sheet) and put their code in. If the box turns green they can move to the next room. If the box turns red they must find their error and try again!
Their FINAL CHALLENGE will be to create their own multiple choice question per topic, which a template is provided for.
