“I’ll Always Remember” PowerPoint end-of-the-year project gives students an opportunity to creatively express their memories from each of their classes for the year. In this project, they combine pictures with a short paragraph about a specific memory they will “always remember” from each of their classes. The project was created for 8th graders but could easily be adapted to use with high school students.

This lesson is great for distance learning/remote learning. You can upload it to your school's learning management system (Google Classroom, Edmodo, Canvas, etc.) or share with students via Google Drive.

Fairy Tale Scenarios

This is a 3 part individual/group assignment where groups (of 4-6) are given a problem based on a well known fairy tale where students have to write and perform their solution to the problem. Students will write out a monologue individually and as a group will write the body of the script. After the groups have resolved their problem, each group member will have a chance to reflect on how their character feels after the resolution of the problem. This activity would be appropriate for middle school students. This package will provide your students with hours of entertainment that include opportunities to write and showcase their creativity. For teachers, it provides great opportunities to teach script writing, assess writing samples, dramatic performances, and to foster group cooperation.

This project is designed for students to create their own original artist/band and to market their newly formed artist(s). It is appropriate for middle school students (grad 6-8) and is always a crowd pleaser!

Students submit a band/artist portfolio which includes a profile about their artist/band, a concert poster, album cover art, and a jingle. The jingle can be performed using an instrumental track to a piece that they enjoy. Included are some examples of products that they could write a jingle about. A rubric for assessment purposes is included and you could even extend this project further by creating an art assessment piece for the album cover art and concert poster.

This assignment typically takes approximately 5-10 classes to complete, from introducing it to completing the final jingle performances. It is handy to have students to complete a rough copy of their work before submitting their good copy to ensure their best quality work is submitted.

What Students Will Be Doing:

This is a 3-part assignment that incorporates both individual and group assignments. Groups of students (4-6) are responsible for writing an individual monologue, a group script and a final monologue reflection. Students will take on the role of a character from a well known fairy tale. In the individual monologue, students will get to explore the perspective of their character and how the new dilemma a character is faced with should be solved. The group will then figure out a solution to the dilemma and will write a short script to show their resolution. Fairy Tale Monologue and Script - Drama and Language Arts

This is a 3 part individual/group assignment where groups (of 4-6) are given a problem based on a well known fairy tale where students have to write and perform their solution to the problem. Students will write out a monologue individually and as a group will write the body of the script. After the groups have resolved their problem, each group member will have a chance to reflect on how their character feels after the resolution of the problem. This activity would be appropriate for middle school or high school students. This package will provide your students with hours of entertainment that include opportunities to write and showcase their creativity. For teachers, it provides great opportunities to teach script writing, assess writing samples, dramatic performances, and to foster group cooperation.

What Students Will Be Doing:

This is a 3-part assignment that incorporates both individual and group assignments. Groups of students (4-6) are responsible for writing an individual monologue, a group script and a final monologue reflection. Students will take on the role of a character from a well known fairy tale. In the individual monologue, students will get to explore the perspective of their character and how the new dilemma a character is faced with should be solved. The group will then figure out a solution to the dilemma and will write a short script to show their resolution. After the group has resolved the dilemma, each character will have an opportunity to reflect on how their character feels about the outcome.
