Managing Testing Anxiety SEL Bundle

This bundle combines general information of managing stress and how coping skills work to improve mental health with a lesson specific to testing anxiety.
Stress management explores identifying stress as a process that takes place in the brain and body, identifying when stress can be helpful (eustress), when stress becomes overwhelming (distress), and emphasizes the use of coping skills to mitigate the negative effects of stress.
Coping skills explore multiple options for positive copings skills and encourages students to identify one that works for them. The lesson looks at positive vs. negative coping skills, problem-focused vs. emotion-focused coping skills, and how coping skills work to affect thoughts, feelings and actions.
Managing Testing Anxiety aims to give students the tools to feel prepared to manage the stress that may arise when preparing for or taking a test- working self-awareness and self-management.
Together these lessons create a comprehensive week of preparing students to effective manage stress and anxiety relating to tests and academics generally.

How to Play:
⭐ **If you choose to use the premade prompt version: **Each group receives a Roll & Match worksheet with prompts already filled in under the Strength, Struggle, and Support columns for numbers 1–6. Students take turns rolling a die. After rolling, they look at the row that matches their number and choose one prompt from the Strength, Struggle, or Support column to respond to. They can share their response aloud or write it down, based on the teacher’s instructions. Others in the group can comment, relate, or ask a follow-up question (optional).
⭐ **If you choose to use the blank | customized version: **Each group receives a blank Roll & Match worksheet organized by topic, with sections for Strength, Struggle, and Support under numbers 1–6. Students begin by working together to create their own prompts based on the chosen topic. Once complete, they take turns rolling a die, selecting one prompt from the matching row, and responding aloud or in writing. Group members may listen, connect, or ask follow-up questions if they wish.
▶ This resource also includes two teacher guidance worksheets, each aligned to the activity formats to ensure you know exactly how to begin and facilitate these engaging dice-rolling activities. The emotions, gratitude and forgiveness and how to express both of these are reviewed in this product. Students can answer questions such as what are you lucky to have?, what is your favorite toy?, and what is the best thing you have done with your family? by circling them in the product. Resource Management is also covered in this product - what, when, and where to ask for help for self and others, and how to ask for help for self and others. Students will identify and express a variety of feelings, demonstrate the use of I-messages to express feelings honestly and effectively, and identify the words that are commonly used in I-messages. an I-message/statements sheet for students to fill out is included in this product, and a list of coping skills is provided to share with students. Students are also able to add onto the list of coping strategies provided. A coping skill bookmark template is included for students to draw/write down coping skills on a bookmark that they can look at in times of feeling stressed/upset. Building trust activity ideas are provided in this product for students to build trust with others they know well, tips for students to interact with school counselors, social workers, and school psychologists are also included in this product. Students will learn who to trust and how they can trust them. Students are also provided with the opportunity to draw who they trust or write down their names as well.
