By Geography & Math Made Easy

Our waterways are not just pretty sights; they’re dynamic systems that play a massive role in our ecosystems and economies. Rivers support diverse habitats, serve as sources of drinking water, and provide recreational spaces for kayaking or fishing. When kids learn about rivers, they also dive into topics like geography, history, and environmental science — all while understanding how human activities can impact these essential resources. You can find them wherever you travel throughout the world. Let's get them excited about exploring the role rivers have played throughout history and how they shape our world today!

Geography, Panama Canal's History & Infrastructure With Into PowerPoint
By Geography & Math Made Easy
Looking for a cool topic to teach your students about? Why not dive into the fascinating world of the Panama Canal and its infrastructure? The building of the Panama Canal was a great revolution that improved** global trade **between the western and eastern hemispheres. Splitting Central America and South America, this engineering marvel connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, making it a crucial trade route. It is called the Panama Canal Zone. Your students can learn about its construction, history, and significance in global trade. **President Theodore Roosevelt **spent $365 million in the early 1900s to build the canal that would make history! They'll be amazed by the sheer scale of this project and how it revolutionized international shipping. Not only is it educational, but it's also a great way to spark curiosity and interest in geography and world history. Plus, who doesn't love a good story about overcoming challenges and engineering feats? It was a great feat and the 50-mile canal of lock was built in only 10 years! Amazing!

Tens of thousands of people have protested on the streets to make their voices heard about all kinds of issues that students care about including racism, inequality, policing, discrimination, etc. Protests have spread across the nation and seem to rival the historic demonstrations of the Civil Rights Movement. It is important for us to bring these topics into our classrooms—because students want to be part of the conversation and share their thoughts and feelings about the very issues that affect them.
