This activity focuses on getting to know your students during the back to school season. This digital choice board menu is designed for students to make their own selections to report to you their qualities, favorite things and other fun information to get the year started in an engaging way. Lots of interactive elements are included!
Like a traditional choice board menu, students select three activities in a row down, across, or diagonally. All activities are included in the slides. Assign and go! Little to no prep needed.

Share a forced of the Google Slides with students.
Students edit each box and type in an activity or experience they had over the summer. For example, "Went to the beach," "Read a book," or "Had a barbecue."
Students continue until all text boxes are filled with different activities or experiences they had over the summer.
Last, students find classmates who share the same activities or experiences listed on their Bingo card and write their names on the line.

Students respond to several statements that challenge or support their preconceived ideas about key concepts as well as their peers’ ideas. The Anticipation Guides can help structure meaningful conversations that reviews what students already know and engages them in critical thinking about the topic they will be exploring. The statements in the Anticipation Guides can spark some great discussions among students!! This Anticipation Guide and Self-Assessment focuses on Growth Mindset.

ANTICIPATION GUIDES
There is ONE Anticipation Guide that comes in two different variations:
▶️ Variation #1:
⭐ Part 1: The first section of the Anticipation Guide features a list of statements alongside columns labeled "AGREE" and "DISAGREE." Students are tasked with reading each statement and marking either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE" based on their perspective.
⭐ Part 2: The second section of the Anticipation Guide prompts students to choose a statement from the list above and delve into its significance to them. They may reflect on how the statement connects to their own lives, share a personal experience related to it, or elaborate on their thoughts concerning its importance in greater detail.
▶️ Variation #2: This Anticipation Guide worksheet format includes a list of statements accompanied by columns for "AGREE," "DISAGREE," and "COMMENTS." Students are instructed to read each statement and mark either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE." They are then encouraged to elaborate on their thoughts or ideas regarding each statement in the designated "COMMENTS" column.

SELF-ASSESSMENT
There is ONE Growth Mindset Self-Assessment included in this resource. Students will assess and recognize fixed mindset elements in themselves and identify areas in which they can work to develop a growth mindset by scoring the statements using the following scale: 2 for “Always,” 1 for “Sometimes,” and 0 for “Never.” They can use this assessment tool to help them identify areas where they can strengthen their growth mindset and improve their approach to challenges and learning.
These assessment statements can also serve as a means to explore students' competencies and viewpoints regarding the topic!
