**AUTOMATIC DATA COLLECTION**
In this form students will use a real-world example of a monthly budget and saving goal. Students will use their learned knowledge of incomes and expenses to identify these items in the monthly budget. Students will practice identifying and calculating the amount of money needed for the desired expense and calculating how much money will need to be saved each month in order to attain the expense. Students will also examine the given budget to calculate the individual total income, expenses, money saved, and identify additional ways for individuals to save.

In this activity, they must choose between 6 different quotes about math from famous figures like Albert Einstein and James Newman and articulate why the quote aligns with their own perspective. Use this lesson every year to set the tone for what you expect in class; it is a great way to gain insight about your students' current attitudes toward math while getting to know one another with a higher level thinking activity.
