There is no wonder why escape rooms are so popular; they are highly engaging and encourage people to work together and think creatively in order to solve different puzzles... all while trying to beat the clock! This meticulously-crafted resource features all of the materials you need to conduct a full-length Escape Room. Planning an escape room may seem like quite the daunting task, but this product provides everything from the basics and set-up instructions to signs and answer keys so that yours runs smoothly from start to finish. Plus, all tasks are skills-based and aligned to the Common Core so that with the escape room, learning is not sacrificed. Your students will be having so much fun that they won’t even realize the higher order thinking skills they are applying in the playing of this game!

How does it work?

In order to graduate from your ELA class and escape to summer vacation, your students must escape your classroom by solving 5 different Language Arts skills-based puzzles, discovering a hidden message, and finding clues along the way.

  • Summer Sayings: In the first task, students will read 8 beautiful literary quotes about summer and identify the parts of speech of underlined words within each passage. When parts of speech cards are arranged correctly, letters on the cards form the first code.
  • Sizzlin' Summer Songs: In the second task, students must correctly identify the figurative language devices from fun summer songs. Shaded letters within the correct answers form the second code.
  • Lovely & Temperate: In the third task, students will perform a close reading of Shakespeare's Sonnet 18, Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Day. The letters of the multiple choice questions about the poem form the third code.
  • Summer Stats: In the fourth task, students will read 8 fun facts about summer that each contain a commonly misused or misspelled word. Students must identify the incorrect word and write it down in their answer booklet. Shaded letters within the correct answers form the second code.
  • Jig Saw Quote: In the fifth and final task, students must assemble a jig saw puzzle with a fun summer quote. (We can't give that away here!)

Product Includes:

- Escape Room Basics

- Detailed Day-Of Instructions

- Escape Room Print Checklist

- Student Teams Chart

By Perfectly Planned Designs

Looking for fun digital resources, like games, brain breaks and activities for your early finishers that aren't lame? Well, you found the right place...this classroom game bundle will get your students excited to be in school, create relationships, and get students talking and connected! Great for any time of year or as a back-to-school get-to-know-you activity! Students are always nervous on the first day and playing games like 4 Corners and Would You Rather is a fun, stress-free way for them to get to know their classmates, while sharing similarities about themselves!

►Use them as engaging class activities throughout the year! It's the perfect icebreaker for middle and high school!

WHAT'S INCLUDED....

1. Would You Rather

A fun whole class activity with questions that align with student interests and are the perfect mix of silly, funny, trending, gaming & social media-related topics. No prep is needed!
