Students will read or follow along as the passage/facts about caterpillars and butterflies. Students will then answer comprehension questions as they read or after they have finished reading. You need a fun, engaging, minimal set up and low cost lab? This is it! I really enjoy doing these labs and as I ask questions, watching when my students get that “ooohhh I get it now!”  This lab is all set up for you with the question "Which color M&M dissolves quicker". It has the steps broken down so it allows students to practice the steps. It provides observation questions for students to ponder. Then has a collaboration piece which does save time if your time is limited with not having to do repeated trials, although, I do emphasize the importance of having to repeat the experiment and get the same results.  I know you and your students will enjoy this!

Thank you for checking out my product! This makes a great review activity or for a sub plan!  It has three parts to it.  The first is an abiotic / biotic sort where the students drag each factor to the correct box.  The second is primary and secondary circles with scenarios presented and the students have to cut and paste the scenario in the correct circle.  The third is pioneer species.  There are six pictures, and the students have to move the correct pictures into the pioneer species rectangle.

This is a google slide so you could embed into a canvas assignment and each student could do it and then submit it.  It could be shared and then each student would have to make a copy in order to work in it then submit their own copy.
