Anticipation Guides are excellent tools that can be used before reading to activate students' prior knowledge and build curiosity about a new topic and/or to share ideas about key concepts. Students respond to several statements that challenge or support their preconceived ideas about key concepts as well as their peers’ ideas. The Anticipation Guides can help structure meaningful conversations that reviews what students already know and engages them in critical thinking about the topic they will be exploring. The statements in the Anticipation Guides can spark some great discussions among students!! This Anticipation Guide and Self-Assessment focuses on Self-Esteem.
You can use an Anticipation Guide:

ANTICIPATION GUIDES
There is ONE Anticipation Guide that comes in two different variations:
▶️ Variation #1:
⭐ *Part 1: *The first section of the Anticipation Guide features a list of statements alongside columns labeled "AGREE" and "DISAGREE." Students are tasked with reading each statement and marking either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE" based on their perspective.
⭐ *Part 2: *The second section of the Anticipation Guide prompts students to choose a statement from the list above and delve into its significance to them. They may reflect on how the statement connects to their own lives, share a personal experience related to it, or elaborate on their thoughts concerning its importance in greater detail.
**▶️ Variation #2: **This Anticipation Guide worksheet format includes a list of statements accompanied by columns for "AGREE," "DISAGREE," and "COMMENTS." Students are instructed to read each statement and mark either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE." They are then encouraged to elaborate on their thoughts or ideas regarding each statement in the designated "COMMENTS" column.

SELF-ASSESSMENT
This resource includes a single Self-Esteem Self-Assessment. Students will use self-esteem statements to reflect on how they currently view and treat themselves. They will use the assessment to recognize their strengths and identify areas where they may want to grow. They will score the statements using the following scale: 2 for “Regularly,” 1 for “Occasionally,” and 0 for “Never.”
Students will use this assessment as a tool to evaluate their current level of self-esteem, increase self-awareness, and set personal goals for building a more positive and confident mindset.
This assessment also serves as a valuable tool for opening meaningful reflection, guiding class discussions, or informing future lessons and support focused on self-worth and personal growth.

The social story includes comprehension questions throughout that relate with helping others. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters. At the end of this product, there are 4 role-playing scenario cards that will require students to discuss helping others, why helping others is important if you can help, how you would feel if you needed help, and no one helped you, and what others may think about you if you could help them and didn't help.
Private Body Parts Social Story and Role-Playing Scenarios

This product includes 1 social story that focuses on your private body parts and keeping them private.
In this product that relates with private body parts and keeping them private, students will learn who should see your private body parts and the importance of keeping them private. There are two versions of page 2 and 3 (page 2 uses the anatomical terms for each body part for older children and page 3 uses the words private parts or private body parts for younger children). Students will also review the vocabulary words respect and boundaries. Students will learn and review what they will do when they are respectful of others and their boundaries and bodies. Students will learn how they can respect someone's boundaries. They will also learn what privacy is and the importance of respecting the privacy of others. A list of what students should do when they see others and what is appropriate to say and do and what shouldn't happen when in public places, what should be sent to others when playing video games, video chatting, text messaging, etc. (page 11 uses the anatomical terms for each body part for older children and page 12 uses the words private parts or private body parts for younger children). Throughout these sections of the product, students will answer or discuss comprehension questions throughout.

At the end of this product, there are 4 role-playing scenario cards that will require students to discuss keeping body parts private, what you would do in a situation where boundaries weren't respected, the importance of talking to an adult about an uncomfortable situation that happens, and why pictures or videos should not be sent to others that show body parts.

In this product that relates with being patient, students will learn the difference between being patient and impatient, why you should be patient and why it is important to do so, and how you can show patience. Students will learn about sports safety, why it is important, what is needed to remain safe when playing different sports, what to do when an emergency call has to be made, what questions to be prepared to answer when making an emergency phone call, what could be in a first aid kit, what to do when someone experiences shock, symptoms of shock, and how to handle a situation when someone is in shock, taking a pulse - how to do it, how to figure out someone's pulse, and where a person's pulse can be taken, what to do when someone is unconscious, how someone could become unconscious, and what to do with someone's body if they are unconscious while you wait for help to arrive, putting on a bandage if you or someone else is injured and the steps to take, first aid procedures for small and deep cuts, scrapes, and nosebleeds, how to treat injuries, how to stop nosebleeds, what to do if you have an open blister, what to do if you have a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree burn and how they differ from each other, information on how to handle sprains, strains, and burns, and what to do if someone is choking and the Heimlich Maneuver needs to be done.
After each section, students will fill in the blanks when given a key with the missing vocabulary words, answer short answer questions, or fill in the blanks based on the previous page on each topic to review.
