Do your students need additional support identifying money and counting currency to match a price or a purchase? Functional money skills such as counting and identifying money to make purchases are critical to successful daily living. Your students will practice matching the number value to the written value, practicing writing the written value, as well as cutting and pasting the correct currency to the item.

The students will practice writing the dollar amount as well as cut and paste the correct number of dollars to the item shown. Remedial skills, introduction to currency, as well as functional math time are great ways to incorporate these worksheets. These worksheets are in both color and black and white.

This No Prep Unit reinforces these skills with progressively harder tasks beginning with matching dollar to dollar, progressing on to matching prices with dollars, then using the next dollar up method to make a purchase. The currency is US dollars from $1 to $10. There 3 levels of learning with 10 cards per level.

A teenage girl innocently befriends a new male student at her high school. This resource provides two Social Skills Worksheets where students engage with negative thoughts, "filtering" them before expressing themselves. In the speech bubbles, students suggest what the person should say instead of the initial statement. It's an excellent opportunity for students to practice "filtering their thoughts." The relatable negative thoughts in the bubbles enhance the learning experience.

Additionally, there's a Bulletin Board Task Display page (with and without a watercolor background) for showcasing student work promptly on bulletin boards—a real time-saver!

Anticipation guides are excellent tools that can be used before reading to activate students' prior knowledge and build curiosity about a new topic and/or to share ideas about key concepts. Students respond to several statements that challenge or support their preconceived ideas about key concepts as well as their peers’ ideas. The Anticipation Guides can help structure meaningful conversations that reviews what students already know and engages them in critical thinking about the topic they will be exploring. The statements in the Anticipation Guides can spark some great discussions among students!! This Anticipation Guide and Self-Assessment focuses on Conflict Resolution.

You can use an Anticipation Guide:

✅ Before/after introducing new material to tap into prior knowledge

✅ Before/after watching a film clip to gauge a reaction

✅ Before/after reading a short text to begin a discussion

✅ Before/After discussing a topic

ANTICIPATION GUIDES

There is ONE Anticipation Guide that comes in two different variations:

▶️ Variation #1:

⭐ Part 1: The first section of the Anticipation Guide features a list of statements alongside columns labeled "AGREE" and "DISAGREE." Students are tasked with reading each statement and marking either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE" based on their perspective.

⭐ Part 2: The second section of the Anticipation Guide prompts students to choose a statement from the list above and delve into its significance to them. They may reflect on how the statement connects to their own lives, share a personal experience related to it, or elaborate on their thoughts concerning its importance in greater detail.

▶️ Variation #2: This Anticipation Guide worksheet format includes a list of statements accompanied by columns for "AGREE," "DISAGREE," and "COMMENTS." Students are instructed to read each statement and mark either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE." They are then encouraged to elaborate on their thoughts or ideas regarding each statement in the designated "COMMENTS" column.

▶️ SELF-ASSESSMENT

There is ONE Conflict Resolution Self-Assessment included in this resource. Students are asked to reflect about their own conflict resolution skills and then score themselves at the bottom of the assessment. They will evaluate or determine their current conflict resolution skills by scoring the statements using the following scale: 2 for “Always,” 1 for “Sometimes,” and 0 for “Never.” They can use this assessment tool to better understand their conflict management style and make necessary changes to avoid or minimize their likelihood of dealing with conflicts ineffectively.

These assessment statements can also serve as a means to explore students' competencies and viewpoints regarding the topic!
