To measure the rain and use it in class for a Real-Life Math task is a wonderful activity! No better Real-Life Math application.

This printable resource includes a task with complete key. Students will calculate the amount of rain that fell in a 20-mile radius if it rains 1 inch. They will then determine what it would cost to bring that amount of water to Athens, GA, in shipping containers from the nearest lake.
