Today in History Daily Warm-Up - 1st Semester Bundle

Today in History Daily Warm-Up Instructions:
Image Observation:
Display a historical image related to the day's date or a significant event in history.
Instruct students to carefully observe the details in the image without providing any background information.
Individual Inference:
Ask students to individually jot down their inferences about what they think might be happening in the image.
Encourage them to consider details such as clothing, setting, facial expressions, and any other relevant visual cues.
Partner Discussion:
Pair up students and have them share their individual inferences with their partners.
Prompt partners to discuss and compare their interpretations, encouraging them to consider different perspectives.
Collaborative Inference:
Bring the class back together and facilitate a collaborative discussion.
Select a few pairs to share their inferences with the entire class.
Encourage students to consider diverse interpretations and discuss any common themes or differences in their observations.
Historical Context:
After the collaborative discussion, provide some historical context or information about the image.
Discuss how the actual events align or differ from the students' inferences.

Deaf Education ASL & English Singular & Plural (Add -es) Nouns Workbook

In this product, students will learn the English vocabulary word and the sign for the 40 different singular and plural nouns (add es) vocabulary words.
Students will learn the difference between the singular and plural nouns presented and will see how they are used in sentences. Signs and pictures for each of the nouns are provided to help the students understand their meanings.
In the first section of this product, students will review that when singular nouns end in s, x, ch, sh, or z, an es is added on the end of them to make them plural. Students will then be provided with a singular and plural nouns sign language dictionary that includes the singular and past tense of the same noun on each page, a sentence using each singular and plural noun, a picture that helps explain each sentence that is provided, and the sign for each noun.
In the second section of this product, students will be provided with a sentence, the singular and plural noun on each page, the sign, and a picture describing each given sentence. Students will be required to fill in the missing noun that goes along with each sentence and picture provided. Students will also choose 14 nouns (present or past) and create a sentence using each one.
In the third section of this product, students will use the sign and picture provided for each singular and plural noun to make up a sentence.

The book, Best Friends by Shannon Hale and Leuyen Pham is great for children ages 7 - 13 years old, as they can relate with Shannon, the friends she makes along the way, the friendships she struggles to maintain, the lack of self confidence she has and she becomes more confident along the way, learning that it is okay not to be friends with everyone, the importance of friendship and not following the crowd or what your friends want you to do, doing things that you want to do - being a leader instead of a follower, and how to handle stressful situations, anxiety, conflict, and bullying. Students will follow Shannon along as she figures out where to fit in while in 6th grade and gets ready for junior high school. The comprehension questions in this product relate with the text as well as students own experiences. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and example sentences are presented in the packet. Students can also write vocabulary words in sentences. As the book is being read aloud, as students are reading the book or after the book has been read, students can answer the comprehension questions in this packet. This is a book about friendship, getting along with siblings, developing interests, finding oneself, bullying, being a good friend, and being yourself as students navigate middle and high school. This book does not have chapters, so comprehension questions were separated by pages. Therefore, written comprehension skills and multiple choice questions are emphasized throughout this product.
