Claude McKay, born Festus Claudius McKay in Sunny Ville, Jamaica in 1889, was a key figure in the Harlem Renaissance, a prominent literary movement of the 1920s. This "4 LOVE SONNETS**" p**roduct provides students a chance to enjoy the Valentines season or just delve into love and its real-life sentiments. 4 LOVE SONNETS from Francesco Petrarch, William Shakespeare, Elizabeth Barrett-Browning, and Edmund Spenser with 24 discussion questions/essay prompts, a sample LITERARY & ANALYSIS Chart and Sonnet notes. Summary:
Sonnets - or "little sounds or songs" - are poems of fourteen lines using any of a number of formal rhyme schemes, in English typically having ten syllables per line.
