This Roll & Match SEL Activity is the perfect tool to help your students reflect on who they are, what they need, and how they relate to others—all while having fun in small groups!
With **20 **diverse and relevant topics, students aren’t just answering random icebreaker questions. They’re thinking critically about their strengths, identifying challenges and areas of personal growth, and recognizing the people and supports that help them thrive.
This product includes two versions:
**✅ **One with 360 pre-made prompts across 20 SEL topics—featuring 20 worksheets, each with 18 thoughtful prompts (6 Strength, 6 Struggle, 6 Support) tailored to its theme.
**✅ **A second customizable set with blank worksheets—each organized by topic, with blank sections under Strength, Struggle, and Support for students (or you) to generate their own prompts.
★ Both versions are included in **print and digital formats, **with text boxes already created for easy typing or writing.
How to Play:
⭐ **If you choose to use the premade prompt version: **Each group receives a Roll & Match worksheet with prompts already filled in under the Strength, Struggle, and Support columns for numbers 1–6. Students take turns rolling a die. After rolling, they look at the row that matches their number and choose one prompt from the Strength, Struggle, or Support column to respond to. They can share their response aloud or write it down, based on the teacher’s instructions. Others in the group can comment, relate, or ask a follow-up question (optional).
⭐ **If you choose to use the blank | customized version: **Each group receives a blank Roll & Match worksheet organized by topic, with sections for Strength, Struggle, and Support under numbers 1–6. Students begin by working together to create their own prompts based on the chosen topic. Once complete, they take turns rolling a die, selecting one prompt from the matching row, and responding aloud or in writing. Group members may listen, connect, or ask follow-up questions if they wish.
▶ This resource also includes two teacher guidance worksheets, each aligned to the activity formats to ensure you know exactly how to begin and facilitate these engaging dice-rolling activities. The guidance sheets provide a clear overview of the purpose of the activity, a list of topic editions, materials needed, setup instructions, and step-by-step directions for how to play.
As students roll and respond to prompts, they’re:

✔️ Encouraging them to express their thoughts and feelings in a safe way
✔️ Promoting active listening and meaningful peer connections
✔️ Supporting the development of self-awareness, empathy, and a sense of belonging

Build classroom connection and promote meaningful conversations with this Get to Know Me "Roll and Reveal" SEL activity that students actually enjoy.
This Roll & Reveal resource is designed to help students reflect, share, and connect with one another—perfect for fostering a positive classroom community.
With 20 different topics and space for up to 11 student-generated questions per topic, this activity gives students the chance to get to know each other on a deeper level while practicing communication and social-emotional skills.
How Does It Work? (SO MUCH FUN!)
In this engaging small group activity, students are placed in groups of 3–5 and given a question worksheet with either numbers 1–6 (for one die) or 2–12 (for two dice), based on a topic of your choosing or one selected by the students. Taking turns, each student rolls the die (or dice), matches the number rolled to a question on the sheet, and answers it aloud. Group members may respond, relate, or ask follow-up questions. The activity continues until everyone has answered 2–3 questions, encouraging reflection, connection, and meaningful conversation.
**✨ **This complete packet includes a total of 220 “Get to Know Me” questions designed to help students learn more about each other—and give you valuable insight into who they are as individuals.✨
What’s Included:
Three worksheet formats:
✔️ 20 - One Die Worksheets (1-6 Questions) – One student rolls the die.
They look at the number rolled and find the matching question on the sheet.
That student answers the question aloud. Others in the group can comment, relate, or ask a follow-up question (optional). Students keep taking turns until everyone has answered 2–3 questions, depending on time.
✔️ 20 - Two Dice Worksheets (2-12 Questions) – One student rolls both dice at the same time. They add the two numbers together and find the matching question (2–12) on the sheet. That student answers the question aloud.
Others in the group can comment, relate, or ask a follow-up question (optional). Students keep taking turns until everyone has answered 2–3 questions, depending on time.
✔️ 2 Student-led format Blank Worksheets are included to support both versions of the activity. Each group collaborates to create their own “Get to Know Me” questions based on a chosen topic. The one-die worksheet features 6 numbered spaces (1–6) where you or your students can **generate your own questions. **The two-dice worksheet includes 11 numbered spaces (2–12) for students to also create their own questions based on the total of two dice rolls. Both worksheets are provided in PDF format for printing and a digital version for use in Google Slides or other online platforms.
✔️ This resource also includes three teacher guidance worksheets, each aligned to the activity formats to ensure you know exactly how to begin and facilitate these engaging dice-rolling activities. The guidance sheets provide a clear overview of the purpose of the activity, a list of topic editions, materials needed, setup instructions, and step-by-step directions for how to play.
Whether you're using the one-die or two-dice version, these guides make it easy to implement the activity with confidence. Each version also includes a blank student worksheet—one with 6 spaces (for 1–6) and one with 11 spaces (for 2–12)—so students can generate their own questions based on the topic. This added flexibility allows for greater student engagement and personalization.

It’s essential that young people develop empathy for those who are different to them. This resource examines the short story of a teen couple dating over summer break. Over the summer, Ava, girl who is not "out" yet, starts dating Bella, who is confidently "out" with her LGBTQ status. While on a date, they are spotted by another girl from school who witnesses their close connection and interactions. Fearful that she may be outed by this person upon returning to school, the story follows Ava’s journey.
Many LGBTQ+ students will find themselves struggling with the unknown. The way in which students respond to lesbian relationships could provide key support and understanding for their peers. Within our classrooms, we may have teens who are discovering their own sexual identity. This resource, and story, highlights positive ways that students might respond to their LGBTQ+ peers.
Through reading the passage and delving into reflection questions, your students will learn important ways to show empathy and support for others. Students will also recognize the benefits and risks of being an ally to LGBTQ+ individuals. They will also learn about the gravity of their own actions as they discuss the consequences of outing someone. Importantly, the anticipation guide includes ideas related to the story to help build background knowledge and to discuss related themes. This is a timely resource that assists students as they consider how they can show empathy towards others.
