WHY BUY THIS?
Aren’t we all a little more engaged when material is presented to us in a fun way? Turning a simple worksheet or practice test into a review game captures students’ attention and increases their motivation to participate. If your classroom is anything like mine, you know that behavior problems are minimal when student engagement is high.
With this customizable game board, you can turn any worksheet, practice test, or topic into an irresistible game that students are begging you to play.
I know it can be nearly impossible to find pre-made review games that perfectly align with your curriculum.
Let’s say you're a 4th-grade teacher using the Bridges math curriculum and want to review for the unit 3 math test at the end of the week.
The odds of finding a review game for this specific test on TeachShare are pretty slim, so save the time spent searching for something and create a game yourself.
This editable template allows you to create a jeopardy-style review game to match exactly what you want students to learn and practice. Just divide the material into the main categories and input the questions and answers into the game board. BOOM, it’s ready to play!
I’ve even included a question planning template and step-by-step instructions to make the planning process even easier for you!
The options are endless. Create as many different games as you want and play them for years to come.

Public Speaking Curriculum, Speech Activities, Debate Unit - Know Your Audience
By Write On with Jamie
*****************************************************************************************
Introducing methods to help students know their audience when preparing for a speech has never been easier! This lesson guides students through a step-by-step process of understanding who their audience will be and how to prepare accordingly. When a high school student begins a public speaking unit, it is quite often the first time he or she has been required to speak in public, other than the basic Show and Tell in elementary school.
Therefore, it is important to make sure the students become familiar with the basics of how to stand, speak, move, and make eye contact during any type of public speaking situation. This lesson is designed to help the students with all aspects of understanding their audience, so they can prepare their presentation accordingly.
The slide show, and worksheets allow students to practice and develop their public speaking skills. The worksheets reinforce guided note-taking techniques when used in conjunction with the slide show. The detailed lesson plans make implementing public speaking, speech and debate curriculum easy for teachers.
These no-prep lessons are adaptable for in-class instruction, distance learning, or independent student work. The PowerPoints can also be presented as whole class instruction or assigned for students to complete at home.
All materials are available in both Google Drive™ and print formats, ensuring easy access for all students.

Welcome to an enchanting world of drama activities designed to captivate and inspire your middle school or high school students! This engaging bundle features ten thought-provoking scenarios rooted in classic fairy tales, encouraging students to explore themes of identity, decision-making, and self-discovery. From Cinderella's modern twist to Snow White navigating the realms of social media, each scenario invites students into a realm of creativity, critical thinking, and collaborative learning. What Students Will Be Doing:
This is a 3-part assignment that incorporates both individual and group assignments. Groups of students (4-6) are responsible for writing an individual monologue, a group script and a final monologue reflection. Students will take on the role of a character from a well known fairy tale. In the individual monologue, students will get to explore the perspective of their character and how the new dilemma a character is faced with should be solved. The group will then figure out a solution to the dilemma and will write a short script to show their resolution. After the group has resolved the dilemma, each character will have an opportunity to reflect on how their character feels about the outcome. Don't worry I've included some rubrics that you can use for each section too and some worksheets to help guide student thinking.

The Great Gatsby SLIDESHOW: Over 40 Slides on Fitzgerald & the Roaring Twenties
By Rigorous Resources for High School English
NEW IN 2020: Rigorous! Engaging! Thought-provoking! This EDITABLE slideshow will kindle a fascination with Fitzgerald's novel before your students even crack the cover of The Great Gatsby. Open your unit on Fitzgerald's masterpiece with this powerful 41-slide PowerPoint SLIDESHOW presentation on the life of F. Scott Fitzgerald's and the culture of 1920s America called "The Road to Gatsby: A Slideshow on F. Scott Fitzgerald and the Roaring Twenties."
While this slideshow can be downloaded for free, it is meant to be accompanied by a 9-page LECTURE that you can preview and/or purchase for $1.99 by clicking HERE!!
Here's a quick glimpse into each of the four sections featured in the slideshow:
• Part I. The Artist as a Young Man: This section features photographs of Fitzgerald from his childhood in Minnesota, his college years at Princeton, his military training at Camp Sheridan, and his romantic courtship of Zelda Sayre in Montgomery, Alabama. Your students will be fascinated by the parallels between Fitzgerald's life and Jay Gatsby's upbringing, military training, and romantic life. After all, it is only because Gatsby is wearing his military uniform — which erases the signs of his class status — that he can get close to Daisy Faye! (13 slides)
• Part II. New York in the Artistic Imagination: This section features photographs and paintings of the rapidly changing skyline of New York in the 1920s. Photographs by Alfred Stiegliz reveal how 5-story brownstones were replaced by 50-story skyscrapers. Paintings by Georgia O'Keefe and Howard Thain reveal how the invention of electric lights imbued the cityscape with color and romantic allure. (7 slides)
• Part III. The Characters as Readers: This section will not only prepare students to catch the literary allusions in The Great Gatsby but will get students thinking about what the books that various characters are reading might reveal about their personalities. What does his interest in Horatio Alger's rags-to-riches novels reveal about the character of Jay Gatsby? What does his interest in Lothrop Stoddard's The Rising Tide of Color reveal about the racist and xenophobic views of Tom Buchanan? (7 slides)
• Part IV. Drafting The Great Gatsby: This section features photographs of the mansions and parties that Scott and Zelda attended on Long Island in 1923. It also features Fitzgerald's handwritten drafts of the first and last pages of his novel, a list of the six titles that Fitzgerald rejected (plus the title he actually preferred but requested after the book had gone to print), and the painting by Fancis Cugat that Fitzgerald selected for the cover of The Great Gatsby. (12 slides)
This slideshow will come to you in a 41-slide EDITABLE PowerPoint presentation which you can customize to the needs of your students! The 9-page EDITABLE lecture accompanying the slideshow can be previewed and/or purchased for $1.99 by clicking HERE. (Sellers are only able to upload one document per TeachShare product, so I've had to upload the lecture under a separate product listing. Apologies in advance for the inconvenience). As a bonus for purchasing the lecture, you'll also get a Spotify playlist of the songs that characters listen to in The Great Gatsby.
Thank you for choosing “Rigorous Resources”!!
Happy teaching!
Adam Jernigan, Ph.D.
Note: This slideshow and lecture also included in my Gatsby MEGA-Bundle. The bundle contains everything you'll need to deliver amazing and comprehensive lessons on Fitzgerald's novel: over 40 slides and over 240 pages of content-rich handouts and activities. Native American Residential Schools in the U.S. (Gallery Walk Activity)
By Sarah Austin
Through the critical analysis of primary sources, this unique lesson will have students explore how Native American residential schools in the United States served as sites of both cultural loss and cultural persistence.
Using primary sources, the gallery walk begins in the early beginnings of the residential school experience with the first school opening its’ doors at Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and then carries on to present-day issues. This resource will bring the photographs to life as students will be provided with additional background information that will come in the form of first hand accounts and testimonies of the people who experienced the residential schools. Critical thinking and discussion is promoted throughout the lesson.
