It can be difficult for students to get the hang of using the imparfait and many will need a variety of activities and lots of practice to get it. Do your AP French students need practice reading non-fiction in order to prepare for the test? Are you looking for interesting reading activities that can be done as class readings, independent reading, or free voluntary reading? Are you doing plenty of fun stories in your CI-driven French class, but you'd like to expose students to some less-common vocabulary or non-fiction readings? These readings are perfect for your intermediate and advanced French classes, levels 2 (with scaffolding) and up (more independently).

This bundle includes ALL of the intermediate and advanced French readings from the store. The price will go up as new items are added, but once you purchase you'll receive all of the new readings for free!

Most are non-fiction, but there are a few fiction stories mixed in. Science, culture, biographies, current events, cultural readings - a little bit of everything in one place! There are currently 118 different readings - enough to keep your students busy for the entire year. As new readings are added to the store, they will be added to this bundle as well.

Each reading includes:

• comprehension questions
• answer key

ACTFL performance descriptors:

• Comprehends simple stories, routine correspondence, short descriptive texts or other selections within familiar contexts. (int)

French Spiral Circling Review Activities BUNDLE

These particular activities are different than many French TPRS circling activities because they don't necessarily tell a story. Read on to see how you can easily differentiate this activity by using video, audio, and practice cards. Each resource has a video preview in the individual descriptions. Check them out to see how these activities work!

Research reveals that language learners need MANY repetitions of grammatical structures in order to truly acquire them. By using the circling method, familiarity with the word or phrase is done through repetitive questions circling around the target language.

Included in French 1 level:

• Full length downloadable video circling activity - 108 slides - 20 minutes
• Full length downloadable audio circling activity - 18 minutes
• Practice cards for online use to work on reading and writing - 108 cards

French 1 examples:

• I speak a sentence: Je garde mes petites soeurs tous les jours.
• I tell students to restate the sentence using a different subject pronoun: Nous
• Students restate the sentence making necessary changes: Nous gardons nos petites soeurs tous les jours.

Included in French 2 level:

• Full length downloadable video circling activity - 362 slides - 53 minutes
• Full length downloadable audio circling activity - 53 minutes
• Practice cards for online use to work on reading and writing - 360 cards

French 2 examples:

• I speak a sentence: Le chien ne veut pas de ses croquettes. Il n'en veut pas.
• I tell students to restate the sentence using a different subject pronoun: Les chats
• Students restate the sentence making necessary changes: Les chats ne veulent pas de leurs croquettes. Les chats n'en veulent pas.

Step 1: Watch the video lesson / activity to learn about the circling method. Students will quickly catch on, and will truly need to concentrate so that they can make the necessary changes in their sentences. Do your students ever tell you that they can understand what's being said, but can't think fast enough to make the necessary changes when responding? That's exactly why you should have them try out circling!

Step 2: Once they've watched the video and have done the exercise while reading along, try out the audio only version! This will be a challenge as they will not be able to see the words, and it will help with listening and speaking skills.

Step 3: Use the set of cards to practice reading and writing. Read the cards that I have spoken in steps 1 and 2, and have students take the time to write their responses before looking at the answer cards. As the cards are not numbered, I encourage you to download them and use them online rather than printing.
