Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year and Spring Festival, is an annual 15-day Chinese festival that begins with the new moon that occurs between January 21 and February 20. It is an important part of Asian history and is considered the most important celebration for families and includes a week of official public holidays. The history of the Chinese New Year festival can be traced back to about 3,500 years ago.

Have your geography students explore the Chinese zodiac and learn about how the Lunar calendar culturally influences Asia and its people through this fun and thorough lesson. • Integrate close to Saint Patrick's Day with the Shamrock Visual

Note:

•The Holy Trinity is a very complex theological subject. I have tried my best to make it just a bit understandable to littles, although it is still quite a wonderful mystery to even us adults.

•We do not know what the Father looks like and the spirit is unseen. The picture of “God The Father” is just the closest thing I could find to give the students a visual. The dove comes from when Jesus was baptized and the Bible says “The Spirit descended on Him like a dove.” The fire is from when the Spirit came at the Pentecost.

•There is no mention of Saint Patrick in this lesson. Only the Trinity and shamrock visual.

•It’s all from the Bible :If you have any questions on the content of the lesson, please scroll to the very end of this resource to see all of the Bible verses and chapters I studied to make sure this lesson was Biblically accurate. These can also be used as an extension to many of the main points in the lesson.

•Thankful Tree Paint Craft: Young learners will get creative in painting fall leaves on a tree that says “ Give Thanks to the Lord for He is good!” Psalm 106

Thankful Tree Cut & Paste: Littles will tell/write what they are thankful for on fall leaves and cut and paste onto the tree. You can choose this option if you do not want to paint.
