This non-fiction text is about the Painted Lady Butterfly. Students will read about painted lady butterfly eggs, painted lady caterpillars, and the butterfly itself. This is a good independent read for eight and nine-year-olds, and the perfect read-aloud for younger children. There is a poster of the Painted Lady with the parts labeled. Suggested video links are included, There are several follow-up worksheets. These are on different levels so you can choose what is appropriate for your individual class or students. These include life-cycle sheets.
If your class is lucky enough to have Painted Lady Larva to observe there is a sheet explaining the humane treatment of the butterfly.
