Black & White Copies:

Print Gameboards B&W, 2 crayons, & provide spinner. Partners take turns. You are not moving markers around the gameboard as in a normal board game, just follow the path and take your turn answering questions. On your turn, spin spinner, if for example you spin 2, answer the first 2 spaces, if answered correctly color in your 2 spaces with your color. (second chances may be determined before the game starts) If answered incorrectly partner may attempt to answer correctly and color the space their color. If both players are incorrect, leave space uncolored or continue to take turns until answered correctly (get out the manipulatives to prove your answer). Then the turn goes to the next player, continue in this manner around the gameboard. When you reach the end, each player counts the number of spaces they colored to determine the winner.

Colored (Laminated) Copies:

Follow the directions above, but instead of coloring in spaces, use colored cubes for each player to leave behind on their spaces along the path. When finished they can count their cube color to determine the winner.

This Spring Bugs comparing and contrasting activity is a great language activity for speech therapy students or English language learners learning to compare and contrast. The task cards and NO PREP worksheet with simple differences allows for teaching of describing, vocabulary, and complex sentence production.

This resource allows for repeated practice of comparing and contrasting using pictures with one difference. Using paperless morning meeting center rotation slides with a timer helps structure and focus students’ center time while providing necessary support to help them complete tasks independently during reading centers or math centers. Slides provide visuals and clear directions that students can follow along, allowing them to access information easily. Additionally, the timer lets the students know when they need to move on from one task to another so they don’t get overwhelmed or bogged down in one activity for too long. This helps keep their minds engaged throughout center time and encourages them to work at a productive pace. 

Reading Centers or Math Centers

In addition, having visual prompts throughout the slide presentation is helpful for younger learners who may need more support completing tasks independently during reading centers and math centers. You can insert clipart or images from Google to help students who cannot read what the center is. 

Another important aspect of the timer is that it will hold you accountable for your guided math and guided reading groups. It will keep you focused and intentional with the group you are with and allow you time to meet with all of your groups.

There are 15-minute timers, 12-minute timers, and 10-minute timers that can be used for reading or math centers. Delete the slides that you do not need. If you need more than four rotations, you can duplicate the slide. If you need more than four groups, duplicate the bar, create more squares, and move or make the timer smaller. 

Overall, using a slide presentation with a timer during reading and math centers can be incredibly beneficial for both teachers and students alike! It keeps everyone organized and provides direction so that learning objectives are met in an effective manner. So why not give it a try today?

Do I need to use a specific Bible Story Book?

No! While I prefer to use The Beginner’s Bible Timeless Children’s Stories by Zondervan with these lessons, they are not required. You can easily use your own favorite Bible Story book, Scripture, or simply read the Bible Summary in the actual lesson that retells the Bible story.

Statement of Faith:

I believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God. I believe that Jesus is fully God and fully human, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and paid the penalty for our sins through his death on the cross, resurrected on the third day having victory over death. I believe in the trinity, that God is existent in 3 separate persons - God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe, as Calvary Chapel states, “that all people are by nature separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. When a person repents of sin and accepts Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, trusting Him to save, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit, all his/her sins are forgiven, and that person becomes a child of God, destined to spend eternity with the Lord.” If you’d like to read more, you can click HERE.
