Looking for a fun and easy Easter themed review game? CVC mixed grid mystery puzzles are a quick and easy way for students to review CVC words this semester! Students will practice short vowel CVC words, beginning sounds, and rhyming words in this fun and interactive puzzle set.
Available in both color and black and white, the color version is made to be placed in centers, stations, or morning tubs. The black and white version is a great NO PREP print and go activity that students can cut, glue and color themselves.

Boost literacy skills and develop phonemic awareness with these hands-on fun-filled activities to assist your students with rhyming words, short vowels, consonant blends, and consonant digraphs. Develop eye-hand coordination as students use clothespins to clip appropriate sounds they hear. Each of these fun hands-on literacy centers also has recording sheets to go along with each activity.
Simply pass out clothespins and have your students clip the appropriate rhymes, vowel sounds, or blends. You could also use these activities on pocket charts. Use the letter cards as headers and the picture cards for sorting. Follow up these activities with recording sheets.

Nonsense Words Dibels Race to Read

Students will race to read nonsense words as they move their cars across the speedway and read nonsense words through the cut out windows on each car. This activity will help students build fluency and help support students for Dibels testing. This game is great to play during RTI or literacy center time. You will receive six different colored cars. Simply cut out the cars and peep hole windows for students to read words through. There are twelve different work mats with nonsense words for students to practice reading. This is a fun, motivating, hands on activity that will help students with short vowel sounds. Students can use clothespins to clip the short vowel sound they hear.You could also use this activity as a pocket chart literacy center. Recording sheets are included. Have fun teaching short vowel sounds to your students. Even if you have only taught a couple of vowel sounds, you could still use this activity. Simply pass out the vowel letter strips to each student and say short vowel words using just the sounds you are working on or show students short vowel picture cards representing all five vowels. Adapt this activity to meet your needs throughout the school year. This can be used in a whole group or smaller groups.
You will receive colorful short vowel letter strips. Just print as many as you like for your students to use.
You will also receive 25 sound cards with pictures that have short vowel sounds.
