Pre-Primer Sight Word Sentences Booklet - 40 words

As students are learning the 40 pre-primer sight words in this product, they will be provided with each word, an example of the word used in a sentence (along with some visuals to help them understand unfamiliar vocabulary words), and the opportunity to make up a sentence themselves using the word. I find that with my students who are Deaf/hard of hearing/ELL, when they make up sentences using the newly learned sight word, it helps them to remember how to spell the word, the meaning, and how it is used. My students love booklets of any kind that they can refer back to. Once they have come up with their sentences, they can include pictures that they print and cut out, draw pictures freehand, or find pictures in a magazine that they can add to each page of the pre-primer sight word booklet that matches each sentence they come up with. This gives students the opportunity to connect what they are learning about in the classroom with their own personal interests. This booklet is perfect for students that are on grade level as well as students who require instructional information to be adapted.

Students are presented with a variety of comprehension questions based on what happens in the book, Arthur's Thanksgiving. Students can answer these questions as the book is read to them, as they read the book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished.
Living and Nonliving Picture Sort and Writing Activity

Students will learn about the needs of all living things when you show them and discuss our mini-poster. Then they will complete a living and nonliving sort. There are 12 beautiful photographs of animals, 12 of different types of plants, and 12 of non-living things. Each photograph has the name of the object printed underneath it. These can be laminated and cut out so that students can sort them under the labels living and non-living (also included). This can be done with the whole group, in small groups or at centers. If this is done at centers putting 6 pictures from each category out allows for the center to be done twice.
There are 2 follow-up worksheets at slightly different levels, so you can choose what is best for your individual students' needs.

This book series is great for young children as they can relate with what Franklin and his friends experience as they are growing up and helping each other. The book, Franklin is Messy, discusses Franklin being responsible, taking care of his things, cleaning his bedroom, returning things when he borrows them, reusing items, being a good friend, etc. The comprehension questions in this product relate with the text as well as students own experiences. Images are located throughout packet to help students answer questions. As the book is being read aloud, as students are reading the book or after the book has been read, students can answer the comprehension questions in this packet.

Writing a play is a perfect project that gives students time to write about an event that happened in their life or an event that they made up. Once they are finished, they can share it with different groups of people and have their friends play each character. This packet includes information to share with your students about what a play is, examples of plays they may see, what steps to follow when writing the beginning, middle and end of a play, and identifying the parts of a play. This packet also includes an example showing the process that is used to write a play using a brainstorming play chart. An example of the play chart and template is also included. On the last several pages, templates are included to help students write the rough draft and final draft of their play that includes space for characters, scenes, stage directions, and lines to show what their characters are saying.
