The materials in this packet are developed to use in conjunction with one another. Use the powerpoint to introduce coins, then use the notebook to provide practice with each concept. I have also included a parent letter and a 2 page assessment to provide you with valuable pre/post learning data.

Notebook - The notebook is in black and white. Students are encouraged to color pages to reinforce the colors of coins and make the book more "theirs". Most pages require students to make interactive activities with simple cuts & paste directions. Pages that require more directions (accordion counting, and pocket with flap), are towards the end of the book.

Life skills slides for kids! This school year my team and I noticed that lots of our students are lacking basic life skills such as how to pack their own backpack, clean up after themselves, say sorry, put on a jacket, tie their shoes, etc. I made these slides to introduce these life skills and explicitly teach what they are. ✅ This resource includes 28 Negotiation and Compromise Scenario Task Cards in both colored and black & white formats. The Task Cards feature relevant scenarios that students can easily relate to, each followed by the question: "How would you negotiate a compromise in this situation?"

✅ The black & white Task Cards are designed for printing on any color paper of your choice!

✅ These Task Cards are versatile for use in various educational settings: as part of larger lessons, in guided small groups, for whole-class discussions, partner discussions leading to group or class sharing, or even for one-on-one sessions with a teacher, guidance counselor, or parent/guardian!

✅ The scenarios in these Task Cards mirror those found in the Scenario Worksheets and Scenario PowerPoint.

✅ Print the Task Cards on either gloss or regular paper and laminate them for durability. They can also be organized using a binder ring for easy access.

How/When To Use the Scenario Task Cards

• Role-Playing: These scenarios give students a chance to discuss, understand, and role-play various effective methods for negotiating compromises and solving problems with others. This activity provides an excellent opportunity for students to practice managing their emotions while interacting with individuals who may not share their perspective. By engaging in role-playing, students can strategically use communication and perspective-taking skills to resolve conflicts and create win-win solutions. They can work in pairs or groups to act out the scenarios provided in the task cards and worksheets, demonstrating appropriate responses. ✅ Included are: the article (one for students and one for the teacher with teacher notes), article vocabulary sheet, two differentiated “Purpose for Reading” question worksheets, and ANSWER KEYS. (The article has already been annotated for you in the color red to help you facilitate discussion and questions.) This is a great opportunity for students to read a non-fiction text (article) to gain a deeper understanding of how mindfulness is currently being practiced in schools today and the impact it has on student discipline and school culture.
