"I Spy" Telling Time game for whole and half hours, and all the quarters
By Ms Garcia Store
An exceptionally designed educational tool for first-grade students who are in the process of learning to read the time. The game combines fun and learning to reinforce understanding of o'clock, half-past hours, and all the quarters.
Preparation: Print an 'I Spy' sheet for each student or pair, along with the 48 different hours, including the 12 "o'clock," the 12 "and a half," the 12 "quarter past," and the 12 "quarter to." For added durability, laminate them, allowing for reuse on future occasions.
Numbering: Choose 9 of the 48 cards and number them from 1 to 9 using an erasable marker. Each card contains a space where the corresponding number can be placed.
Classroom Arrangement: Distribute the 9 sheets with the selected times around the classroom, ensuring they are visible to the students.
Gameplay: Instruct your students to complete their 'I Spy' sheets individually or in pairs. Each sheet contains 9 analog clocks and 9 digital clocks. They should draw the clock hands on the analog clocks with an erasable marker and write the corresponding time on the digital clocks.
You can customize the game's dynamics according to your preferences, whether by promoting cooperation among students or encouraging friendly competition.
If they wish to play again, replace the 9 clocks used with any of the remaining 39, providing a constant variation and ongoing fun while learning to read the clock.

Questions focus on the converting measurements, using line plots, finding volume with unit cubes and the volume formula, mixed review, and vocabulary. Points range from 100 - 500, which reflect the increase in difficulty throughout each category.
**FULLY EDITABLE** While the game is complete, it is also editable in PowerPoint, making it easy to add questions or change the level of difficulty based on your students' needs.
The game includes 30 high quality questions - 6 categories with 5 questions each ranging in difficulty from basic review (100) to challenging (500).
⭐Converting Measurement: these questions require students to compare and create equivalent measurements within either the Metric System or the US Customary System
⭐Line Plots: this category asks students to read line plots and gather information from a line plot. The more challenging questions have 1/2 incriments and ask about redistributing evenly.
⭐Volume with Unit Cubes: students are asked to find the volume of rectangular prims when given a picture with unit cubes. They are also asked to find missing measurements when told two dimensions and the total number of cubes used to create a figure.
⭐Volume with a Formula: these questions involve using the volume formula to find volume. Students are given rectangular prisms and compound figures with labeled dimensions to use. They are also asked to find a missing dimension when given the volume.
⭐Mixed Review: students are asked computation problems to review addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division - all at a 5th grade level
⭐Vocabulary: this section asks about the meaning of words related to volume and specific measurements within the Metric System and US Customary System
