My favourite game to practice German verb conjugations (schwache, starke, trennbare, reflexive, Misch-, Modalverben, Verben auf -eln und -ern**.** It can be used in any tense. No prep, just PRINT AND GO.

This is my go-to game when I need to drill some grammar into my students. It's by far the most efficient grammar game. I love it because it's so easy to use. And my students love it because it doesn't feel like learning when, in fact, they do a TON of learning. We can easily spend the whole lesson playing battleship and they want to keep on playing even after the bell rings.

It's also a great activity for substitute lessons or when I'm in a time press and don't have much time to prepare for a lesson.

How to play:

• It can be played in pairs or in small teams
• Hide your ships in the left field. They mustn't touch.
• Form sentences in order to "hit" the enemy ships in the right field.
• If your enemy hits your ship, indicate that in the left field. If you hit your enemy's ship, mark it down in the right field. If you miss, mark it down as well. If you hit your enemy's ship, have another go.
• To win, sink all of your enemy's ships before he sinks yours.

French conditional - Bataille Navale - French present conditional battleship game Everyone loves a good game of BATTLESHIP, and the French classroom is a better place than any! You can use this classic game format to have your students practice the present conditional tense. This game is perfect for both core and immersion curriculums and everything written on the games is in French. *There is not an answer key included with this resource due to the number of responses possible. This resource includes 40 different verbs including all of the common ones with irregular stems and a few with spelling changes as well as a good mix of regular verbs. 5 different versions of the game are included. Check out my entire collection of BATAILLE NAVALE games.
Just print out one page of the version of this game that you want to use per student. Students place boats (which are squares on the game sheets that they will have darkened with a pencil) on the game board. Students play against each other to try to find and eventually sink their opponent’s boats. Subject pronouns are written in the vertical column and infinitives are written in the boxes at the top. To choose a square, the player must say the subject and correct verb form in the imperfect tense. Another idea is to have students make simple sentences using the subject pronoun and verb of choice. All of the vocabulary they’ll need is written right on the game sheet and it is all in French. Each game sheet includes two battleship grids and a line separating the two. Students can fold the paper on the line if they want to. One of the grids is for a player to place his boats and the other is to mark and keep track of his opponent. This resource includes 5 versions of the game with both black and white and color copies and instructions on how to play.

Directions

Materials Needed:

• One of the 10 worksheets or the editable template where you add your own words
• A regular six-sided die
• Colors
• Optional: A device with a QR code scanner (phone, tablet, etc.)

Rolling the Die:

• Students roll a six-sided die to determine which color word they read in Spanish.
• Students can also scan the QR code on the worksheet using a device with a QR code scanner to access a virtual dice roller.

Reading the Word:

• Students match the number rolled with the corresponding color word on their worksheet.
• Students read aloud the color in Spanish to practice pronunciation.

Marking Progress:

• Once students read a word, they should shade in color the box using the color that matches the Spanish word read.
• If students roll a number they have already completed, they should roll again until they land on a new word.
• Students continue rolling and reading until they have completed all the words on their worksheet.

Contains:

How to use:

1. Ich habe..., wer hat...? Card Game

Print out, cut up. It can be played in small or large groups. Hand out all of

the cards to pupils, each has roughly the same number of cards. The student

with the 1st card starts by asking Wer hat... The pupil with the matching

card replies Ich habe... and asks Wer hat...? The game finishes when pupils get to the last card.

During the activity teacher monitors the correct use of articles.

2. Cut and Paste Picture Dictionary

Each pupil gets 1 set of picture cards and 1 set of word cards. Pupils cut them

out. They can either glue them onto the provided sheets or in their notebooks.

Make sure they glue the picture and word cards in the correct article

category.

Are you looking for a quick, fun way to get your students practicing the conjugations of verbs with irregular yo forms in the present tense in Spanish? This fun, low-prep dice activity is a great way to practice verb conjugations and sentence writing! You can specify the tense, so this could be used at all levels! All you need is copies of the game sheet and one or two dice for each group. This activity can be done individually, in pairs, or in small groups and it's a great way to fill a few extra minutes when your lesson ends early or on days with irregular schedules (like standardized test days, pep rallies, early releases, etc). This is also a great learning station activity. My students love playing the dice game and I'm sure yours will too!

This activity includes 2 versions of the activity, each with 6 different verbs.

• Version 1 (pages 4-5) contains six subjects, twelve verbs (six on page 4 and six on page 5), and twelve lines for writing out sentences.
• Version 2 (pages 6-8) contains the same six subjects and twelve verbs as version one without space to write. This version is great to print on colored cardstock and laminate for the future. Two copies of the activity are on each page in version 2.

In addition to the activity, this resource includes instructions for completing the activity with your classes and some teacher tips.

The verbs included in this resource are:

salir, poner, hacer, traer, saber, ver, caer, dar, conocer, ofrecer, merecer, and traducir.

My (very) low-level middle-schoolers love learning about niche objects and concepts in Core French. I use their interests and personalities to create engaging projects that meet the outcomes. I actively use this particular project with grades 4, 5 and 6 but it could easily be used in a grade 7 or even grade 8 classrooms. Object of the game:

One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the underlined word at the top of the card.

Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Beginner students should be allowed to use the French TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.
