Teaching French chez le médecin - doctor vocabulary?  Looking for an engaging way to get your French students to build their communication skills and vocabulary? Taboo is a fun French speaking and listening game where one student has to guess a word based on clues given in French by other students. The catch is that they cannot mention anything that is included in a list of taboo words.

All of the words on each card are written in French and English. This is very useful as many of the words will be new to students whether they are beginners or very advanced. Classic French Taboo Games Bundle - 3 Versions

Object of the game:

One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the underlined word at the top of the card.

Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Beginner students should be allowed to use the French TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.

Plus-que-parfait - Bataille Navale - French pluperfect battleship game

Everyone loves a good game of BATTLESHIP, and the French classroom is a better place than any! You can use this classic game format to have your students practice the present conditional tense. This game is perfect for both core and immersion curriculums and everything written on the games is in French.

*There is not an answer key included with this resource due to the number of responses possible. I encourage you to allow your students to use a resource that you choose for them to check their answers.

This resource includes 40 different regular and irregular verbs using both être and avoir as helping verbs. Some reflexive verb s are included. You get five versions of the game.

How to play:

Just print out one page of the version of this game that you want to use per student. Students place boats (which are squares on the game sheets that they will have darkened with a pencil) on the game board. Students play against each other to try to find and eventually sink their opponent’s boats.

Subject pronouns are written in the vertical column and infinitives are written in the boxes at the top. To choose a square, the player must say the subject and correct verb form in the imperfect tense. Another idea is to have students make simple sentences using the subject pronoun and verb of choice.

All of the vocabulary they’ll need is written right on the game sheet and it is all in French. Each game sheet includes two battleship grids and a line separating the two. Students can fold the paper on the line if they like. One of the grids is for a player to place his boats and the other is to mark and keep track of his opponent.

J'utilise ces 27 cartes "J'ai... Qui a ?" une fois que mes élèves sont familiarisés avec les nombres décimaux et sont à l'aise avec les dixièmes et le nombre entier.

Si vous n'êtes pas familier, les jeux de cartes "J'ai... Qui a?" sont des activités en grand groupe qui renforcent leur capacité à lire et à dire ce qu'il y a sur les cartes. C'est une excellente activité de révision avant l'évaluation et je l'utilise actuellement avec mes élèves de 5e et 6e année ; mais il pourrait facilement être utilisé en 7e année comme échauffement ou rappel.

Dans ce document de 7 pages, vous trouverez :

• Explication du jeu et comment démarrer avec des exemples.
• 27 cartes pré-créées (9 cartes par feuille) comportant des nombres comportant une partie entière et une partie décimale (dixièmes seulement) y compris les cartes "début" et "fin". Pour la partie "J'ai..." de la carte, les élèves ont la forme standard d'un nombre, et pour la partie "Qui a..." de la carte, les élèves ont une forme écrite en mots.
• 1 page avec des modèles de cartes vierges (avec "J'ai...", "Qui a..." "Début" et "Fin) à créer si vous avez plus de 27 élèves dans votre classe, si vous souhaitez permettre à vos élèves de créer leur propre version du jeu (j'enseigne une classe combinée, et je laisse mes 6 travailler sur ce projet ensemble pendant que je travaille en petits groupes et que je donne des instructions avec mes 5).

J'imprime ce document recto sur du papier 8,5 "x 11", je le découpe et je le plastifie pour l'utiliser année après année.

Just print and go with this French board game, worksheet, crossword, and sudoku activity to conjugate the irregular stem verb avoir in the futur simple. The board game includes 37 numbered boxes. The first player to reach box 37 wins. No prep for you! Take a look at the preview for full details on everything that is included, and save with the bundle!

Board Game: Some boxes require students to conjugate the verb using the provided subject pronoun, and others require them to name the subject pronoun that matches the verb conjugation. Lots of repetition will really help them to memorize the French verb avoir in the futur simple. There are a few fun tricks along the way, so getting to the end isn’t always so easy.

In groups of two to four, players take turns rolling a die to move their pieces forward. Spaces are numbered to keep track of which way they’re moving. There are some spaces with special instructions:

• Départ - Start
• Avance de 5 cases - Move forward 5 spaces
• Recule de 5 cases - Move backward 5 spaces
• Rejoue - Play again
• Tu perds ton tour - Lose a turn
• Fin - End

For an extra challenge and to extend playing time, you can tell your students that they have to land directly on the last square and answer it correctly to win. 

Worksheet: One page worksheet - Half of the page requires students to fill in subject pronouns, and the other half requires them to conjugate the verb. This is a great way to prep for the board game!

Crossword: One more excellent way to review this irregular stem in the futur simple.

Sudoku puzzle: Your students will review this irregular verb stem and exercise their brains in a different way with a sudoku puzzle!

42 playing cards to print on heavy paper or card stock

This card game is an excellent way to practice and memorize verb conjugations. It will have your students speaking to each other in French the whole time! They will make affirmative and negative statements and will use EST-CE QUE to form simple questions.

One player distributes five cards to each player (2 to 4 per group). The rest of the cards are placed in the "pioche". One player begins the game by asking another player to give him a card. He or she might say, "Est-ce que tu fais du karaté?"

The goal is to come up with complete families. The different verbs represent the families. There are 6 cards to a family (JE - TU - IL - NOUS- VOUS - ILS). Students will find it helpful to group together the cards that have the same picture at the top (flower, flip-flops, etc.) If the player doesn't have it, he says "pioche". If he draws the card that he asked for, he can continue to play and ask someone for another card. Each time a player comes up with all six members of a family, he can make a stack. At the end of the game, the player with the most sets of families wins!

Jeu de Dominos - French Valentine's Day - La Saint Valentin

This is a free set of 32 dominoes with French and English words related to Valentine's Day. This is an easy, very low prep activity that your students will enjoy playing during the month of February.
