Then, there is a great World War II Digital Research and Sorting Activity that is perfect for introducing students to some of the key events of World War 2. Great for class work, distance learning or home schooling. There are 42 posters or task cards that include many of the key events and periods from the rise of Adolf Hitler in Germany to the dropping of atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

There is also a World War II Informational Text Writing Activity. The activity focuses on key facts about the war, and has been split into three separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Figurative Language Short Passage Sets are a no-prep, printable close reading activity that's perfect for middle school and high school. Each passage has between 206-226 words and is filled with between 14-19 examples of figurative language, such as hyperbole, metaphor, simile, and personification. I’ve found that although my students can tell me the definition of these terms, simile is the only one they can truly pick out in a text. As a result, their writing is filled with overused similes that need work! These figurative language passage sets are rigorous, use higher-level words and phrases, and in addition to merely identifying the different types, students will be asked to discuss the impact it has on the reader, as they’re asked to do on standardized testing. Simply print and go! There is truly no preparation needed, which is why this set is perfect to leave for sub plans, bell ringers, homework, test prep, review or assessment!

Four Corners Figurative Language Activity is a fun whole-group game or review activity. DBQ and Primary Source Sets
DBQ and Primary Source sets include primary sources with questions, DBQ prompts and Answer Keys. Students have a chance to develop understanding of context, perspective, purpose, audience and context. DBQ prompts prepare them for integration of sources into essay responses. These are excellent ways for students to develop historical thinking skills. APUSH students can benefit from DBQ practice. A Bonus File on "How to Integrate Sources in a DBQ" is included.

Guided Reading Assignments

Guided Reading Assignments are 1-3 page overviews of these topics which provide more detail than textbooks might provide or can replace textbook reading. A Worksheet at the end of the Reading Assignment will help students to process the information.
