Writer's Workshop - First Twenty Days outline This gives you a twenty day introduction to writers' workshop in the middle grades. From going through the rules of the workshop, to editing vs. conferencing, to the different genre of writing. Everything is covered or introduced in this twenty day plan. Although this is intended for use when the school year begins, it can easily be used at any point throughout the year to teach different aspects that are covered. Description:

• This product contains templates to help students write an introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion for an Expository Research Writing project on animals. The introduction has students begin with an interesting lead and include sentences with general and specific sentences on appearance, habitat, diet, life cycle, and predators. There are two introduction templates on one page. This page will simply need to be cut in half so that an introduction can be given to two students per page. The body paragraph template has space for four paragraphs with main idea titles and spaces for key words that will be turned into sentences. The key words will be found and highlighted in their research prior to filling out this template. This page will need to be printed front and back. Remind students to add transition words when they write their final draft. The conclusion has a blank for a transition word, which has helped my students remember to put one. It also contains three spaces for summary sentences and one space for a final feeling sentence to close the report. There are other instructions included in this packet.

  • Space for four sentences
  • An interesting lead sentence
  • A general or specific sentence on appearance, habitat/diet, and life cycle/predators

• One body paragraph template containing:

  • Space for main ideas, key words, five sentences per paragraph, and four paragraphs total

  • A transition word
  • Space for four sentences
  • Three of which are summary sentences, one final feeling sentence

• This product is meant to provide scaffolding for students who are writing a Persuasive Essay. It has helped my students write almost twice as fast, now that they had very specific boundaries and structure. The Short-Writes helped my students realize just how varied and strong their opinions were. They created a stepping stone that set up the next step of brainstorming and writing their Introductions. The Introductions, Body Paragraphs, and Conclusions templates are easily stapled together as the writing process continues. When it comes to writing their Final Draft, this progression allows the students to do so with ample ease.

The political landscape in the United States is deeply polarized, with Republicans and Democrats often having starkly different positions on many issues. 

Here are ten hot contentious topics that hav been prominent in the political discourse. These topics are highly dynamic, and the positions associated with each party can evolve over time, influenced by current events, leadership changes, and public opinion. Always consult the most recent sources for the latest information on these and other political issues.

Each issue has further been divided into two short stories, or rather scenarios, one from the perspective of a democrat, and one from the perspective of a republican.

Finally, there are sets of questions that probe each scenario and dig deeper into the issues and perspectives.
