Less than $5 Middle School Reading Strategies Rubrics

Are you in need of a way to encourage your students to come to class prepared and ready to read independently? Do you want to reward those who consistently do their best, and motivate those who could be doing better? Do you like to use self-assessment tools in class to hold your students accountable? This is an independent reading preparedness and preparation rubric I use to make sure students come to class prepared to read, and stay focused and respectful to their peers while reading in class. It is a 4 point rubric, and focuses on preparedness and performance. Students use it to self-assess their own reading habits, and set a goal to work towards at the bottom. Then I go in and score them with a different color pen on the rubric, so they can see where they believe they are, and where I believe they are on the rubric.
