This resource focuses on CHAPTER 12 of We Beat The Street and features 5 inference-based questions that require students to demonstrate inferential thinking and a deep analysis of the chapter - beyond literal comprehension. Each inference-based question can be treated as an extended response where students must make inferences and support their responses, ideas, and/or analysis with evidence from the text.

► There is a "combo" worksheet, which includes all five questions on two pages. There are also 5 separate worksheets that include the same questions on a different worksheet. This allows for more extensive responses. You can have students either complete all five inference-based questions on the "combo" worksheet all at once OR you can have students complete each of the questions at different times: for classwork, independent practice, homework, or formative assessment - your choice! You can even give students different questions depending on their levels - excellent for differentiation.

► I also included a blank worksheet for you to generate your own question and students write it in the box!

► A detailed ANSWER KEY for the questions have been included. The ideas and evidence in the Answer Keys are accompanied by page numbers to help you facilitate discussion more smoothly and navigate to important ideas and events without looking for the information in the book. The Answer Keys are so comprehensive that you can even develop additional questions that will encourage students to engage in productive classroom talk!

► A 2-Point rubric is included for scoring with a section for comments and feedback at the bottom. In this product, students will learn the English vocabulary word for the 102 different home vocabulary words presented. Students will initially write each vocabulary word in their native language and after learning the English word, students will complete the home vocabulary review where they will be required to fill in the English and their native language for each home vocabulary word. Pictures are included for each vocabulary word to help students make connections to what each home vocabulary word is. Students can do this independently or with help. Students will be required to answer a few comprehension questions that relate with what home vocabulary words they see in their home, outside of their home, or in a family member's home, students will also learn the various items that we will see in our homes. Students will then be required to choose 11 home vocabulary words and make up a sentence using each word.

Celebrate the Christmas season with this engaging communal story-telling activity!

"Christmas Collaborative Story Time" is a communal story-telling activity in which students practice using Freytag's Pyramid plot structure in their own narrative writing. In this activity, each student begins a story inspired by a unique Christmas picture or photograph. They are prompted to write the exposition of the tale by introducing the setting and main characters. After the allotted amount of time, the story is then passed to another student who is prompted to write the inciting incident or conflict and begin to detail the rising action. The paper is passed from student to student twice more until the story is resolved. When the stories are finished, the worksheet is returned to the original student who can then make edits and is responsible for producing a final draft.

With this intrinsically engaging activity, each student has the chance to tap into their creativity while applying knowledge of the 7 steps of Freytag's Pyramid. It is a great activity to introduce or reinforce the plot diagram and is perfect for getting students in the Christmas spirit. Since it runs itself, the lesson is also great for substitute plans or on those days when you need a quick plan to get you through the day. I trust you will find that your students will ask for this activity again and again!
