I created a curriculum that provides a simple, effective, and engaging way to teach your child their letters. 

Parents: This resource is simple and effective so that you can teach your child the foundational literacy skills they need. You don’t need a fancy degree to help your child succeed.

Teachers: You don’t have time to teach aides and parent volunteers how to teach literacy skills effectively. With this resource, you can print it, hand it off, and know your students are taken care of.

This curriculum will help your child master:

• Important phonological awareness skills
• Letter name and sound of letters
• Differentiation of upper and lowercase letters
• The penmanship of each letter
• An introduction to reading two-letter words

I created this curriculum using the most researched and effective methods to teach children early literacy skills. The Science of Reading research has been shown to teach 95% of children to read and write effectively. Structured Literacy provides an explicit and systematic approach to teaching important literacy skills.

I have used this resource with children who are beginning to learn their letters and children who are struggling to master their letters, so I know it works. My students master their letters gain confidence and enjoy learning letters with the resources and methods laid out in this curriculum.

Letter Sounds RTI- This is a great RTI tool for students struggling with letter-sound relationships. It is 25 day (5 week) intervention letter sounds program, great for distance learning. This can be done individually or in a group as large as 8. Each week focuses on 5 letters (week 5 includes 6). This is broken down into several components for each day for learning letter sounds!

Need to teach tone? Do it in a way your students will immediately understand through greeting cards! This is such a great way to also introduce non-fiction elements such as audience, message, and purpose.

The cards are simple to understand but require a little inferencing too. Using greeting cards means it's a lesson where students can learn and practice quickly.

The lesson has increased complexity, gradual release through group and independent work, and is adapted with a word bank.
