Free Other (Music) Activities

This is a competitive pitch matching name in powerpoint format. The learning goal is for 2nd grade students to name pitches as fast as they can (beginner level, just the spaces!) :) We usually play this game 'around the world' style. We start off on the left side or right side of the the room and the first two people stand up and you flash a note on the screen. The student who gets the note correct gets to move onto the next child in the class while the other student sits. That student has to make their way through the entire class before being deemed champion... but they could be beat at ANY TIME! You can mix it up, left side, right side, boys/girls, etc. Kids get ultra competitive!

Just in time for St. Patricks Day, this themed matching game allows your little piano stars to match basic terms and symbols on a rainbow! Students will match the term in the cloud (on the left side) with the symbol on the rainbow (on the right side). Correct matches will show the rainbow connecting the term with the symbol.

There are 4 cards per sheet, but the sheet should be printed whole. Printing instructions are included in the file.

Originally created for my private studio, Music Money is an incentive program that can be easily adapted to fit any classroom or learning situation for all ages. This incentive program can also help students learn about earning, saving, and spending money. The Music Money package includes $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 bills, 6 bills per page, in black and white, so that you may have the freedom print and copy onto any color of paper you wish! Assembly is easy! Just print, cut, and play! There are four hearts on a page, and a dotted line on each heart to cut them in half and have your students put them together.

This resource is reproducible so you can make multiple copies for students, classes, or a lending library! However, you may not share this with other colleagues or schools - you are encouraged to send them this link so they know where you got it from!

This worksheet includes 3 pentascales students can fill out as they're working on learning these three essential scales. The pentascales on the worksheet are C Major, F Major, and G Major.

Students simply write out the letter names of the scales in the strings of lights on the page.

Who doesn't like a good freebie?!
